CTC’s subject for July meeting was “Beach Finds”... Token - Foreign Coin 1933 British Sovereign - Mark Jenkins

Thanks to club members Jon G., Rick R., Mark J., Gary C. & Ron A. for bringing in their beach finds & sharing their stories. The subject is a broad one so only a fraction of their collections were discussed with the subject of gold items left for a separate meeting. Mark had a nice display of silver coins found as a result of beach erosion as well as Gary’s plastic tray full of beach sand & silver coins. Ron had a display of some Luna Park trinkets including many concession prizes from the park’s early history. Awards...Jake Tiefel won $32.75 for the Jug of Hope Contest..the 1988 Silver Dollar raffle was won by Mark Kulseth...AOK Award was won by Gary Clark for helping a young lad carry his homemade boat. No-No award was won by Ron Aldridge for wearing Mark Jenkins hunt badge on Sunday at the Idaho Hunt.

CTC Labor Day Weekend Camping at Indian Flat Campground August 31 - Sept 3rd, 2012

. We will have a hunt on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. . A potluck that evening. . On going weekend games will be included. . Cost of camping will be dependant on number of campers. . Directions To Indian Flat Campground: Indian Flat Campground is located past mile post 89 & just east of Bumping Lake Road on highway 410. This is over Chinook Pass on the right side of the road. I will have a CTC sandwich sign located just west of the turn off. The campground will be opened from approximately 10:00 am on August 31 until 12:00 noon on September 3 . Allow 1.5 To 2 hrs. travel time from the Auburn area.

TREASURES IN THE SAND - 2012 Treasures in the Sand will be held at Sudbury Beach, (more recently named Hully beach) located on the north shore of Skaha Lake. Bring along your lawn chairs as picnic tables may be at a premium. Washrooms are on site. The first of two morning Hunts start at 9:30 am so make sure you arrive in plenty of time to get ready. All of the coins & tokens have been tossed into the sand and will be near the surface. Scoops are allowed for all Hunts. There will be an hour break between the two morning hunts. We will have lunch at noon, where BBQ hamburgers, pastries, drinks, chips etc. will be served. Prizes for the morning hunts will be given out and we can relax, chitchat, or partake in the ongoing Token Hunt. At 2:00pm we will have the "Surprise" Treasure Hunt where all sorts of interesting goodies will be hidden. . Closing ceremonies will begin at approximately 3:30. The Silent Auction will end, we will award the major prizes and hold the drawing for the Minelab E-Trac detector. The final drawing will be for the winner of the special “West Jet Travel Tickets for Two”.

Sudbury Beach and parking lot is on your right. Turn right at entrance. South Beach campground is on your left. . Camping There are a number of Campgrounds in the vicinity that are offering off season rates. Wrights Beach Camp is on the water as you come down the hill into Penticton from the south Ph: 250-492-7120. South Beach Gardens RV Park is located directly across the street from Sudbury Beach 250-492-0628 .

hosting our 39 th annual Moonlight Hunt at Lincoln Park in West Seattle. We will be meeting at one of the picnic shelters on the south end of the park. There will be two hunts, hot beverages, fire, snacks and a raffle for some nice prizes. The first hunt will be a warm-up hunt with some tokens for prizes. Then there will be a short break, around ½ hour and the main hunt will begin with several tokens for prizes.
