“Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong - Rediscovering Nippon -”2018 Event Outline February 14, 2018 The Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong The Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong together with supporting organisations plans to organise the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong - Rediscovering Nippon -” again this year following its launch in 2017 (Click here for summary of 2017). Please see below for a brief outline: 1. Concept of “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” With the major objective of expressing our thanks and appreciation to Hong Kong for its embracing different aspects of Japan, including Japanese culture, products and services, we are organising this festival as a platform to provide opportunities for Hong Kong people to know more about and enjoy the attractions of Japan. A series of Japan-related events will be held with participation by Japanese cultural organisations, schools, enterprises, and local governments, as well as enterprises and related organisations from Hong Kong and other countries and regions. 2. Period of Festival 1st October (Monday) – 30th November (Friday) 2018

Features of “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” (Tentative) ● A grand opening ceremony of the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” will be held in Hong Kong. ● Participating companies and organisations are invited to initiate and organize events during the festival period. ● Approved events are entitled to use the official logo. ● Approved events will be jointly promoted on an official website (click here for examples from last year). 4. Recruitment ● We welcome enthusiastic participation from a wide range of companies and organisations which agree to the concept (refer to Point 1.) of the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong”. Application guidelines will be available in late March on the official website of the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong. Moreover, following it success in 2017, the “Lan Kwai Fong Japan Carnival” is scheduled to be held again during the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” this year. ● Participation is not limited to Japanese enterprises and organisations. We invite all enterprises and organizations from Hong Kong and other countries/regions with an interest in Japan. 5.
