I use this for spanish 1 class. All color pages and hardcover. Don't forget the workbook. This is a little difficult for a starter though. I'm a Chinese student and I feel ok with that.
Hated this book. I don't like they way they are trying to teach Spanish to high schoolers. I have a friend who is a Spanish teacher and she doesn't like this book either.
I ordered the book, teacher edition, and the cd rom, and I can tell you that it is well worth the money. I highly recommend it.
