Book Report format Medford Vocational High school Summer Reading

**Each of the following numbered items should begin on a separate piece of paper.**

1. Create a book cover using color. Have the title and author’s name on the cover. Try to recreate an important scene of fill the cover with images from the book. Must be hand-drawn. 2. Create a character list. Identify the protagonist, antagonist, and at least three other important characters. Write a paragraph about each character describing the character’s personality and goals. 3. Setting: Write a paragraph describing the time and place in which the story occurs. Why is this particular time and place important? 4. Plot Summary: Write a three-paragraph summary of the book. Do not write more than three full paragraphs. Focus on the general action of the book. (12-18 sentences). 5. Conflict: What is the major conflict in this book? Is it internal or external? 6. Climax: Identify the part of the story when the reader knows how the conflict ends. Who wins? How did this “victory” happen? 7. Resolution: What loose ends or unanswered questions are explained at the end of the book? Where do the characters go from here? 8. Opinion: Overall, would you recommend this book? Why/Why not? Who would this be a good book for? How could this book be better? (You have to think of a reason). This would be an appropriate place to put your name.

Reports do not have to be typed. If they are written by hand, students should not use cursive.
