MANUAL ON BUSDUCT – PUBLICATION NO. 318 COST : RS. 1500/‘Bus duct‘ in electrical power system forms a vital link for transfer of power with reliability and efficiency. To match with the fast growth in the power sector, development and upgradation of bus duct design, manufacturing processes/technology, quality requirements and accessories involved requires a consolidated documented guidelines/manual for the use of all utilities and manufacturers. Presently not much of documented technical information is available in the country for Bus Duct except National/International Standards. The Central Board of Irrigation of Power, realizing the requirement and demand was firstly published Manual on Busduct in 2007. To incorporate the latest developments and to facilitate the professional engineers associated in the field; this Manual has been updated now. This manual covers all aspects of bus duct like Type of Bus Ducts, Design Requirements & Criteria, Layout, Specifications, Accessories, Supporting Structures, Manufacturing guidelines and Quality requirements, Testing requirements, Packing, Transportation and site Storage, Erection, Testing and Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance, Spare Parts Management etc. This document is outcome of the ceaseless efforts made by each & every member of the Expert Group.
