Curriculum Vitae

Marija Benić Penava is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics and the head of the undergraduate study History of the Adriatic and the Mediterranean at the University of Dubrovnik. She graduated in History at the University of Split, earned her MSc at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb and PhD in History from the University of Zadar in Croatia. Her research and teachings are in the fields of economic history, the history of tourism and everyday life of the first half of the 20th century. She teaches in courses: Economic History of Croatia, History of Croatian Tourism and Economic History of the World. She has authored a dozen of refereed articles in scientific journals and conference papers. She is a member of the Croatian National Committee of Historical Sciences, the Croatian Economic and Ecohistory Society and the academic member of the Athens Institute for Education and Research.
