Notifications for Printer Groups Description »

PaperCut administrators can now define a recipient to receive notifications for collections of printers, ensuring the right person is alerted to a device in error.

»

New fields can now optionally be added to the "printer in error" and "low toner" notifications, including: make or model, serial number and physical ID.

»

Alert the right people about the print devices they are responsible for - when they have fallen below a configurable threshold in toner or queues, or when they have gone offline.

»

In distributed environments (multiple sites or departments) where a local administrator manages printers at a particular site, this feature allows you to limit notifications by printer group, making sure only relevant notifications reach each admin.

»

This means administrators no longer receive notifications for printers they don't manage, and with reduced notification load they can respond faster to the printers they do manage.

»

Administrators can now receive either a daily digest or a timely alert of printer errors. When coupled with 'timely alerts' allows for quicker response times for devices in error.

»

The implementation of Timely Toner Notifications in 15.3 enables quicker delivery to the right people.

Easier Mail Server Security Configuration (SMTP) Description »

PaperCut NG and MF use mail servers to send administrators notifications of important events about the PaperCut system and their printers. These notifications add significant value, though until now administrators needed to edit advanced config keys to enable secure mail transport. In this version, email server security configuration is much easier and can be done in the user interface. Additionally, settings for popular services like Google, Yahoo and Outlook.com are populated automatically.

»

Configuring secure mail server settings is now simplified and through the admin UI.
