Extended Congregate Care Extended Congregate Care was developed in response to a growing awareness of the desire of individuals to age in place. Older and disabled adults typically express preferences to remain in their own homes and to retain as much dignity, autonomy, and independence as possible. ECC was able to address this consumer preference by expanding the scope of services which ALF’s are able to provide residents, and by mandating those values which are integral to the concept of aging in place. The new rules adopted for ECC differ from the ALF rules in that they include an explicit statement of values which ECC facilities are expected to promote. These values reflect commonly held beliefs and attitudes about how people should be treated. The new regulations facilitate aging in place through Extended Congregate Care, and mandate that the independence, dignity, choice and decision-making of each resident be maximized.

Limited Nursing Services Angels Senior Living has always been interested in the quality of life of our elderly citizens. The concepts of choice, freedom, dignity, independence and decision-making for our residents are concepts that have been in effect in our ALF since day one. Angels Senior Living will continue to implement these concepts and provide quality care to our residents through a Limited Nursing Services license (LNS). We have designated units to be used for LNS when needed, which will allow our residents to remain in their familiar surroundings and exercise the most independent level possible regardless of the physical or mental decline that may occur as they age as long as they meet the guidelines for continued residency in the home. LNS allows Angels Senior Living to perform a number of medical services not normally available in an assisted living facility.

Angels Senior Living Approach Angels Senior Living offers an atmosphere of respect and encouragement to our residents. Quality relationships are developed through activities and sharing times. When you walk thru the front door, smiling happy faces greet you and an atmosphere of warmth and love welcome you.

Residents can be admitted to Angels Senior Living under Assisted Living or Extended Congregate Care. The admission criteria are different for Assisted Living than for Extended Congregate Care. In both cases, the resident must have their physician complete a Health Assessment form that is required by the State of Florida. It is our goal to allow our residents to “Age in place,” while abiding by all the rules and regulations set forth by the State of Florida. As residents physically and mentally decline, we try to provide increased or adjusted services to compensate for this decline that occurs in the aging process. It is our desire to allow our residents to remain in a familiar caring environment as long as possible.
