RE: Enquiry for the Construction Programme of Central Kowloon Route

Dear Mr Kwan Thanks for your call. As discussed, sorry for the typo error of the previous letter sent to you on 23 March 2010 and I suggest it to be obsolete. As discussed, we are the consultant appointed by the MTR Corporation Limited (appointment letter ref.

P&CD/KTE/NEX/2207/C4011/CA-046L and dated 5 August 2008 as attached) to undertake the captioned EIA study pursuant to section 5(7)(a) of the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance (EIAO) for the proposed Kwun Tong Line Extension (KTE) which is planned for completion in 2015. It is an extension of the existing Kwun Tong Line from Yau Ma Tei Station to a new Whampoa Station and with an interchange with the Shatin to Central Link at the proposed Ho Man Tin Station as shown in the attached Fig 1. We understand from the Project Profile of the Central Kowloon Route (Application No: ESB-156/2006) that the construction period of the Central Kowloon Route would be between 2012 and 2016, which will be concurrent with that of the KTE, and hence the cumulative impacts shall be considered. Therefore, we would like to enquire the following information of Central Kowloon Route project to conduct their study EIA study: 1. Updated construction programme; 2. Type of construction works activities with respect to the construction programme above; 3. Construction plant inventories including the number and type of plants to be deployed on-site with respect to the type of construction works; 4. Layout of construction site boundary; and 5. Time of commissioning of your project. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
