School Based Application Choices Science (SSCI), Engineering (SENG) and Business and Management (B&M) are School Based application choices. Students will be admitted to the respective School and they will choose their major program(s) at the end of the first two or three semesters.

Applicants may be considered for alternative offer if they are not admitted to the program(s) applied. #The program duration is 5 years

2017 Admission Requirements, Scholarships and Fees We welcome applicants from diverse education backgrounds. To be admitted to HKUST undergraduate programs, you should meet the following requirements: General Admission Requirements Graduation from high school; and one of the following qualifications

American Patterned System (SAT/AP)

• SAT Reasoning Test with a minimum combined score of 1,800 or above in one sitting or ACT plus writing with a minimum composite score of 27 or above in one sitting; and • Three SAT Subject Tests, each with a score of 600 or above; or three American College Board Advanced Placement subjects, each with a score of 3 or above

ADVANCED CREDIT Students holding certain qualifications, such as IB Diploma and GCEAL/IAL, are eligible for advanced credits granted at entry. On average, students with international qualifications can get 16 advanced credits. For more details, please refer to arr.ust.hk/ust_actoe.

HOW TO APPLY

Your application should include:

• Completed online application form, including personal statement • Transcripts and public examination result certificates (e.g. SAT score report, etc.)

Note: For students using New SAT, please consult the concordance tables provided by the College Board which show the equivalent score on the old SAT for a score on the new SAT.

British Patterned System (GCEAL/IAL)

• Passes in at least 3 AL subjects in the GCEAL/IAL examinations; or • Cambridge Pre-U Diploma; or • BTEC Extended Diploma • Applicants may present Cambridge Pre-U Principal courses in place of Advanced Level (AL) subjects

International Baccalaureate

• IB Diploma

• Proof of English Language proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)

# Non-local students refer to individuals requiring a student visa or an entry permit to study in Hong Kong. On average, off-campus rental cost is HKD 5,000 per month, excluding bills and utilities. ^ The final year of the Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management is offered on a self-financing basis.
