INTERN REAL ESTATE AGENT QUALIFICATIONS The introduction of a compulsory internship for real estate agents in 2008 provides a new agent and learner the opportunity to obtain both academic and practical training as an estate agent, no matter what qualifications the newcomer may hold. Intern estate agents must be employed by an estate agency and hold a Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC) with the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) and serve this twelve month period under the active supervision of a principal estate agent, or a full status estate agent with no less than three years practical experience - also referred to as a “mentor”. Iselesele have developed a programme which does not require the intern agent to sit in lectures for weeks but encourages foundational training followed by experiential learning under the guidance of a mentor and with a developed learning process.
