Training Opportunity for Tribal Community Corrections Personnel The American Probation & Parole Association is pleased to announce the availability of a training opportunity entitled Interviewing & Report Writing Skills for Tribal Community Corrections Personnel. This training program is funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance as a way to provide continuing education and professional development to enhance tribal community corrections officers’ knowledge and skills.

Interviewing & Report Writing Skills for Tribal Community Corrections Personnel Training Event May 12-14, 2015 Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside - San Diego, CA Blended Learning This is a blended-learning event. Participants will be required to complete a brief online lesson prior to the on-site skill-building training event. The onsite training will engage participants in a case study inclusive of skill-building activities designed to expose officers to a variety of interviewing skills to aide in the development of an assortment of commonly used community supervision reports. Participants will practice completing forms, such as pretrial investigations, pre-sentence reports, chronological reports, court reports, case plans and reentry plans, based upon interviews completed. Interviewing skills will focus on how to elicit information from a variety of sources including compliant and non-compliant probationers, collateral contacts, & victims in order to inform the reports.
