Operations Delivery Manager TRL0495 Operations Vice President Operations Order Fulfilment Co-ordinator MRP Buyer

Primary Purpose of the Position To lead and manage on-time, on-quality, on-cost fulfilment of Operations deliverables against Business Unit segment customer requirements. Working with Business Unit and Operations personnel to manage timely and efficient supply deliverables from opportunity forecast and bid phases through to supply planning, material acquisition, production control, packing and despatch.

Secondary Purpose of the Position To be responsible for the leadership of assigned Operations Delivery personnel ensuring capability through training, establishing targets/objectives, and monitoring performance.

Main Duties of the Position  Accountable for on-time, on-quality, on-cost fulfilment of Operations deliverables against assigned Business Unit segment.  Responsible for overseeing provision of Operations information and items in support of all Business Unit demand types including: o Order and sales forecasts through AOP, S&OP, STF and Latest View analysis and reporting. o Bids / quotations by supporting L-3 TRL’s opportunity management and bid processes through the provision of accurate and timely information on the availability of materials. products, resources as well as other customer and internal project requirements of Operations. o Order acceptances and amendments ensuring all customer commitments are supported by realistic and achievable supply plans. o NPI requirements for IRAD and CRAD projects. o Customer Support requirements for spares, assemblies and products. o Trials and demo requirements.  Responsible for overseeing Operations supply activities including: o Master Production Schedule (MPS). o Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ensuring MRP is realistic with no ‘past-due’ (purchase order or build order) dates and that they are achievable with planned resources and materials availability. o o



Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP). Build Order management including firm planning, release, material issue / kitting, build order receipts and closure. o Purchase Order management, placing purchase orders through the approved supply chain and monitoring progress through to receipt. Closely monitor achievement of plan through purchase and build orders, ensuring proactive notification of any delay with recovery actions and plans in

 

place. Manage actual material and labour costs against standards through variance reporting. Provide a steer for and champion Operations continuous improvement based on (quality, cost, delivery) performance and ensuring that improvement activities are targeted to achieve maximum impact in terms of improved effectiveness and efficiency of Operations delivery processes. Manage finished goods, packing, and outbound logistics services for assigned Business Unit segment. Report timely progress of assigned Business Unit deliverables at regular intervals to senior management and project teams, highlighting particular areas of risk and opportunity, including monthly project reviews, S&OP reviews, etc. Responsible for the effective management of assigned staff, including team briefing, appraisal, salary review, skills assessment, succession planning, career development and training. To operate in accordance with company policies and procedures. Proactively support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation through adherence to company polices, processes and practices. Knowledge, Skills & Experience:  

Experience of senior operations leadership role. Expert knowledge of modern planning tools including S&OP, MPS, MRP, CRP, MS Project, etc.  Financially literate with experience of standard costing with associated variance analysis and material and labour cost management.  Experience of ERP systems implementation and development.  Degree qualified, preferably in a business related subject.  Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral. Desirable:  Defence industry experience.
