MAKE AN ANEMOMETER Step 1) Locate 4 small plastic cups, 1 plastic bowl, 1 push pin, 1 wooden pencil with an eraser, a roll of double stick tape and a marker
Step 2) Write your name on the side of one cup.
Step 3) Place about 1” of double stick tape on the cup opposite your name.
Step 4) Attach the cup to the side of the bowl.
Step 5) Place 1” of tape on a second cup and attach it to the bowl opposite the first cup. Make sure that the open ends of the cups face the same direction when at the front of the bowl.
Step 6) Place a 1” piece of tape on a third cup and attach it between the attached cups. Make sure that the open ends of all cups face the same direction when at the front of the bowl.
Step 7) Place a 1” piece of tape on a fourth cup and attach it opposite the third cup. Make sure that the open ends of all cups face the same direction when at the front of the bowl.
Step 8) Push the push-pin through the center of the bowl and then into the eraser of the pencil. Leave it a little loose so that the bowl can spin freely. The Anemometer is complete. When you hold it out in the wind, it will turn. The rotation rate will depend on the wind speed.
