My Dream Job For many people, a dream job means having a high salary, being famous and having a high post in a company so that they can buy big houses, own a car with a well-known brand name or have gorgeous meals. Earning a comfortable life is their life goal. It sounds good! Nevertheless, for me, the criteria to my dream job may be totally different from the majority. I love a job which is related to my interest, meaningful and challenging. So, what is that? I want to be a pilot. I want to be a doctor. I want to travel around the world, searching the needy who are struggling in poverty and diseases. My dream job is related to aviation and medicine. A pilot needs to be good at mathematics and mechanics. I am interested in both topics. On the other hand, being a doctor is undoubtedly meaningful. I can treat people wholeheartedly and help them fight their diseases. At the same time I will show my care and love to the patients. Travelling around the world creates challenges for me. I need to learn a wide variety of languages and get used to the environment of under-developed countries. The effect my work would have on the world or society can be divided into physical and psychological. Firstly, the treatment and the education about health can improve people’s life and they become healthier. This is a physical improvement. Secondly, love and care they received can increase their self-esteem and results in psychological improvement. These reduce the burden of the society and it becomes more and more harmonized. There are several abilities that I need to have to make me good at the job. Flexibility is one of the most essential elements for me to face the different challenges. As I mentioned, under-developed countries may have a worse environment than that in Hong Kong. I have to be adaptable. Also, patience is not excluded. I need to be patient to my patients for most of them may not be educated so I have to explain a lot to them. Furthermore, if I am sociable enough, more people may like to approach me. They may share their difficulties more willingly. This is a dream of future. Now, being a student, I must be hard-working and prepare for my future. Since there are a lot of challenges in my coming future, I need to be confident and courageous to face all the difficulties. 5B(26) Lung Chau Yiu
