Norstar MICS version 4.1 PRI PBX Configuration Guide Prerequisite In addition to the PRI/T1 Interface module, the system will need a PRI Enabler software key. This license key can be lost if the system data is reset or if cards are added or removed from the system. If you have issues reconfiguring an existing PRI system then you can reset the PRI programming by changing the DTI interface back to LOOP, exiting the config and then putting it back to PRI. This will default all the PRI settings. The DID range used on the PRI must not conflict with any of the access or feature codes on the Norstar. For example, if the system uses 9 for external calls then the DID range cannot start with 9. You would either have to change the PBX access code or the DID range. One option is to change to a 2 or 3 digit DID range on the PRI. You can change the “Rec’d # length” on the PRI without changing the “DN Length” for the extensions. There are 3 areas of focus for configuring a working PRI on the Norstar MICS. A) The PRI interface B) Outbound Dialing plans C) Inbound DID routing using Target Lines   PRI Interface on Norstar: 1. Obtain your key code using the PRI enabler 2. Step 3 on the enabler shows you how to enter the 24-digit passkey to the system. 3. In maintenance disable Mod 2, Cards 1 or 2 depending on where your DTI card(s) are installed. 4. After you disable the card slot(s) go to the hardware section of programming and change the slot(s) from loop to PRI 5. Note before you enable the card(s) in Maintenance, you must enter in all the protocols for your span to work properly.
