POLICY SUMMARY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The information contained within this document is to highlight the Key exclusions and conditions of the policy only and does not constitute the full policy terms, conditions and exclusions. Please refer to the Policy Document for full terms, conditions and exclusions. Gadgetinsurance.com will not provide you with a personal recommendation as to whether this product if suitable for your needs so you must decide yourself whether it is or not. You must make a decision based on the information made available to you. 1.

You are required by the provisions of the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012 to take care to: a) supply accurate and complete answers to all the questions we or the administrator may ask as part of your application for cover under the policy; b) to make sure that all information supplied as part of your application for cover is true and correct; c) tell us of any changes to the answers you have given as soon as possible. Failure to provide answers in-line with the requirement of the Act may mean that your policy is invalid and that it does not operate in the event of a claim.

You must be resident in the Republic of Ireland and the electronic gadgets registered on the validation certificate must be normally located within the Republic of Ireland.

The electronic gadgets registered on the validation certificate must belong to you and not lent or given to you for work purposes.

Your electronic gadget(s) must be in good condition and full working order prior to taking out this policy. If there is evidence that the damage, theft or loss occurred prior to the policy start date your claim will be refused and no premium refund will be due.

This insurance only covers electronic gadgets bought in the Republic of Ireland, UK or US and used in the Republic of Ireland or UK. Cover is extended to include use of the electronic gadgets anywhere in the world up to a maximum of 60 days in total, in any single 12 month period but repairs must be carried out in the Republic of Ireland or the UK by repairers approved by us.

This insurance only covers gadgets purchased as NEW or refurbished if you purchase it directly from the manufacturer (e.g. Apple, Samsung) or from your mobile phone network provider (e.g. O2, Meteor).

This insurance only covers electronic gadgets that are less than 24 months old at the time you take out this policy.

8.

If your gadget is more than 3 months old when you purchase this insurance then you are not covered for any incident that occurs within the first 14 days of cover.

9.

There is an excess fee payable for every claim you make. If your claim is for an electronic gadget up to the value of €400 (when new) the excess fee is €40 for any claim. If your claim is for an electronic gadget over the value of €401(when new) the excess fee is €75 for any claim.

10. You need to be able to evidence ownership at the point of a claim. This can be a copy of your receipt, delivery note or confirmation from your network provider of the phone you have in use on your contract. 11. In the event of a claim, you will need to prove that your gadget has been in use after the date you insured it up to the date of the incident. 12. Accidental loss of a mobile phone(s), iPad or tablet is only covered providing you have selected and paid the additional premium for this cover. If you have selected this cover it will be shown on your validation certificate. No other electronic gadgets are insured for accidental loss. 13. This policy does not provide cover for wear and tear, including but not limited to: replacement of or adjustment to fittings, control knobs or buttons, batteries or aerials or gradual deterioration of performance. 14. This is not a replacement as new policy. If the electronic gadget cannot be replaced with an identical electronic gadget of the same age and condition, we will replace it with one of comparable specification or the equivalent value taking into account the age and condition of the original electronic gadget. We cannot guarantee that the replacement electronic gadget will be the same colour as the original item.

15. If you pay for your premiums monthly then your policy is a rolling monthly policy and is only in force if the monthly premium continues to be paid. Cover can continue up to a maximum of five years. 16. If you pay for your policy annually, then your policy is an annual policy for which the full annual premium must be paid at inception and again at each annual renewal date. The type of policy you have will be shown in your validation certificate. 17. Unless stated otherwise quotations provided by the system for new insurances are valid for 24 hours only provided that the information you have given is correct and does not change. 18. Cancellation You may cancel the insurance, without giving reason, by contacting us on 0818 286 456 or [email protected] within 14 days of it starting or (if later) within 14 days of you receiving the insurance documents. For details on cancellation outside of the 14 day period, please refer to the Policy Document. 19. Automatic Renewal of Your Annual Policy We will contact you up to 30 days before the annual renewal date of your policy and we will tell you then if there are any changes to your premium. To ensure continuation of cover, we will attempt to renew your policy 2 weeks prior to the renewal date unless you advise us otherwise. If we are unable to automatically process your renewal we will contact you before your renewal date and invite you to renew your policy via an alternative channel. Your renewal premium will be taken by the same method used during your initial purchase and must still be valid for the automatic renewal to successfully processed. If you do not want to auto renew your policy, simply follow the instruction in your renewal notification. If you do nothing, then this policy will automatically renew for a further period of 12 months.
