Pumpable Non-Shrink Cementitious Grout Description

Sika Grout 215 if a non-shrink self levelling, cementitious grouting mortar with extended working time to suit local ambient temperature.

Uses

Sika Grout 215 is suitable for repairs to concrete structures and the following grouting works with clearance of 10mm or more: n Machine foundations n Rail beds n Columns in pre-cast construction n Concrete anchors n Bridge bearings n Cavities n Gaps n Recesses

Characteristics / Advantages

n Highly early strength n High ultimate stregth n Extended working time n Dense, non-shrink n Non-toxic, non-corrosive n Chloride and iron free n High final strength

Instruction for Use Surface Preparation

Surface Preparation Concrete surfaces should be clean, sound and free from oil, grease, cement laitance and all loosely adhering particles. Metal surfaces (iron and steel) should be free from scale, rust, oil and grease. Absorbent substrates must be saturated thoroughly, but there should be no standing water. Mixing The pre-mixed powder is added to water to suit the desired consistency. For flowable consistency, approximately 4.2 litres of water per bag is required. Mix mechanically for 2-3 mins with a slow speed drill (max. 500 RPM) until a smooth even consistency is achieved. Application After mixing., allow the mortar to rest for a while, stirring lightly to ensure that air displayed by the grouting is allowed to escape. When carrying out base plate grouting, ensure that sufficient pressure head is maintained to keep mortar flow uninterrupted. Make sure that the necessary formwork is firmly in place and kept water light. Sika Grout 215 may be placed in thickness up to a maximum of 50mm at one pour.Where large areas are to be placed, it is important to maintain a continuous flow throughout. It is necessary to organize the work sequence properly (manpower, materials, etc.) to ensure an uninterrupted flow. In such large areas, Sika Grout 215 may also be pumped. A heavy duty diaphragm pump is recommended for this purpose. Screw feed and piston pumps may also be used. Specific Application Grouting under base plate: Use flowable consistency Grouting Anchor bolts: Use trowellable consistency Grouting large volumes: For sections thicker than 50mm it is necessary to fill the Sika Grout 215 with graded 10mm silt free aggregate to minimize temperature rise. The quantity of aggregate should not exceed 1 part Sika Grout 215 by weight. For such mixes, a conventional concrete mixer and pump may be used. Cleaning Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened mortar can only be mechanically removed.

Important Recommendations

Use Sika Grout 215 for repairs to concrete structure and grouting only. Minimum Gap: 10mm Maximum Gap: 50mm Minimum Application Temperature: 10 0C At temperature lower than 20 0C setting time and stregnth gain will be slower. Cure exposed mortar surface for at least 3 days with Anitsol E curing compound or use other approved curing methods.
