Pèrdua de continuïtat d’un os.
Exploració
• Signes i símptomes: possible deformació, inflamació, impotència funcional acusada i dolor que augmenta amb la mobilització de la zona. • Conseqüències: risc de lesió de parts toves adjacents, risc d’hemorràgia i xoc hipovolèmic i risc d’infecció si la fractura és oberta. • Criteris de gravetat: depenent de la localització de la fractura i del dany ocasionat per l’impacte en els teixits adjacents. • Les fractures poden ser obertes o tancades i alineades o desplaçades.
Actuació
• No s’ha de mobilitzar l’accidentat si no és absolutament necessari. • Cal retirar anells, rellotge i braçalets. • Cal explorar la mobilitat i la sensibilitat distals. • S’ha d’immobilitzar el focus de fractura, incloses les articulacions adjacents, i evitar moviments bruscos. • Cal traslladar el pacient a un centre sanitari. • Cal cobrir la ferida amb apòsits estèrils o roba neta en cas de fractura oberta.
