PSR SUMMER PROGRAM NEEDS YOUR HELP! By: Flory Reynolds
Like other ministries in our parish, PSR depends so heavily on volunteers in order to do God’s work. Our students are so well behaved! We have every minute of each days lesson planned and a strong support system in place. You are constantly covered by our prayers. Keep this in mind ---God calls you because He needs you to share the gifts He has so generously given to you. He needs you to share your faith with His children. Trust Him. He will give you everything you need to do the job. What you offer Him will be returned to you a hundred fold. That's not my promise; it's His! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
TEACHERS (minute by minute lesson plans provided)
AIDES (call roll, staple papers, gather craft supplies, etc.)
BABYSITTERS…(take care of teachers’ children so that they can teach)
Thank You, and please call me if you need any more information or if you need a pep talk!!! I will be glad to meet with you to show you the schedule, lesson plans, etc. I will be more than happy to go over each day’s lesson and to help you plan your activities, etc. Please know that I will be praying for all of you. Flory Reynolds, PSR Principal (933-1925) or
[email protected] We are constantly asking for God’s help in our prayers. Well, He is asking for help now. Please say “YES” to Him. When today you hear His Voice, harden not your hearts." "
Today’s Readings First Reading — All peoples called by God will receive the gift of the Spirit if they repent and are baptized (Acts 2:14a, 36-41). Psalm — The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want (Psalm 23). Second Reading — Once we were like straying sheep; but now we have been returned to the shepherd, our guardian (1 Peter 2:20b-25). Gospel — The shepherd leads the sheep out into pastures of abundant life (John 10:1-10). The English translation of the Psalm Responses from Lectionary for Mass © 1969, 1981, 1997, International Commission on English in the Liturgy Corporation. All rights reserved.
THE CALL OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD The Twenty-third Psalm, today’s responsorial psalm, is arguably the best known of all the psalms. The line that reads “Even though I walk in the dark valley / I fear no evil; for you are at my side / with your rod and your staff / that give me courage” (Psalm 23:4) connects this week’s scriptures to the wonderful story of the road to Emmaus, which we heard last week. The Lord Jesus, our Good Shepherd, is constantly at our side. He calls us each by name, beckoning us into a deeper relationship with him. That call, issued to each of us at the moment of our baptism, carries with it the promise of the Good Shepherd: “I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
