Adding new card reader to Ricoh device PaperCut supports multiple card readers on Ricoh copiers. Refer to the PaperCut MF – Ricoh Embedded Manual.pdf - A. Appendix: Supported Authentication Card Readers for further information. If you have a card reader that does not match the pre-defined Vendor and Product ID’s you may attempt to add it so it works on a copier.

Step 1 Identify the Vendor ID and Product ID of the card reader, either by finding the USB card reader in Device Manager on Windows. Simply bring up the Properties of the device -> Details tab -> Hardware Ids

Vendor ID = 076b, Product ID = 5428 If you plug an unknown device into a Ricoh copier, PaperCut will record the Vendor ID and Product ID in the PaperCut Admin Console -> App Log

Step 2 Add the Vendor ID and Product ID to the following file with the appropriate driver: [app-path]\providers\hardware\ricoh\403046912\card-reader.properties # HID Omnikey 5427 076b,5428=jp.co.ricoh.dsdk.usb.core.hid.prox.ProximityCardReader

Step 3 Once this is done, recreate the ZIP file as per the instructions in the PaperCut MF – Ricoh Embedded Manual.pdf, re-upload to the copier and test.
