This course is designed to do two things: 1. Train individuals who are interested in obtaining the API 571 Inspector Certification. 2. Provide individuals with an advanced knowledge of how corrosion mechanisms drive RBI conclusions.

guide and student classroom workbook. The student receives instruction regarding how to take the test, as well as insight into its application in “real world” situations. Daily tests have been designed to gauge students’ proficiency and understanding of the material.

REQUIRED CODES & STANDARDS The only required code for this course and the examination is the first edition of API RP 571 with exception of the following sections: 1.1, 3.1, 4.1 & 5.2. • Identify general damage mechanisms on uniform or localized loss thickness and explain the various types of corrosion related to it.
• H ave a general background on the scope, organization and use of API 571 and be able to review the standards and other references related to it.
• D escribe damage mechanisms on high temperature corrosion including oxidation, sulfidation, carburization and metal dusting.
• U nderstand general damage mechanisms applicable to the refining industry and be able to identify their features and functions. • D etermine the various mechanical and metallurgical failure mechanisms such as brittle fracture, stress rupture, steam blanketing, cracking, thermal shock, corrosion and fatigue.
• K now refining industry damage mechanisms used in uniform of localized loss in thickness phenomena. • D escribe refining industry damage mechanisms for environment-assisted cracking and be able to identify the other types of mechanisms.

Cancellation Policy 14 days prior to the course, a 25% fee is deducted from your refundable payment. 13 - 6 days prior to the course, a 50% fee is deducted from refundable payment. Within 5 days of the course, a 75% fee is deducted. No shows without notification will have no refund. Please note at time of purchase, 20% of the total payment is non-refundable to cover administration and material costs. However, course substitutions may be made at any time.
Attendee Requirements Policy Attendees are responsible for their own method of transportation, lodging, and meals if applicable. Pinnacle is not responsible for registering attendees for the API exams or the fees associated with them. All attendees are responsible to provide their own copies of the API RP documents and bring their own wireless capable computer.
