Dear Parent, Cheers to the New Year which brings with it another chance for us to enlighten you with the dipsite news via our own Dipscoop!!...a chance to spread joy and cheer in the DPS world. We bring you highlights of the Year that Was!

Joy of Giving A visit to RAYADURGAM Government School In the year 2015, students from Delhi Public School, Hyderabad participated in the Emily Emanuel Basketball tournament. Both the girls and boys team had bagged the Runners up position and were awarded a cash price of Rs.13,000 /-in total. These students, along with their coach decided to use this money to purchase Cricket bats, balls and other sports equipment to donate to the students of the Rayadurgam Government School. A gesture worth appreciated ! The students were overwhelmed with joy when on a visit to the School, they saw Students thoroughly enjoying themselves while playing a variety of sports with the students of Delhi Public School, Hyderabad. All the dipsites felt as elated as the students from the Government School. They all felt it was an amazing experience and were happy to put smiles on the children’s faces.

Spreading a Smile The members of the School took up a charity drive, titled ‘Spread A Smile’. This began with the collection of various provisions like colour pencils, crayons, tooth paste, tooth brushes, coconut oil, rice, lentils, sugar, bath and washing soap, biscuit packets, towels and bed sheets from classes 1 to 10. The response from our dipsites, was overwhelming. There was maximum contribution from all the students and the teachers.

The next step to this drive was to hand over these provisions to various orphanages and old age homes. Six institutions were identified, namely, Mahima Ministries, Ameenpur, JMJ SnehaSadan, Miyapur, ShirdiSai Old Age Home, Madinaguda, Anuraag Human Services, Tolichowki, Radha Krishna BalikaBhavan, Nanal Nagar and Kinnera Welfare Society, Mehdipatnam. All the provisions that were collected were segregated into six parts and then distributed to all these institutions on 30 th December, 2016. The members of the Interact Club interacted with the less privileged orphans and the neglected veterans. The children were pained to see that there were so many children who didn’t have anyone, but were happy about the fact that there was someone for them who is taking care of their needs, both material and emotional. It was a learning experience for them to see that in spite of being unwanted, they were happy about the little things that they were getting.

God loves those who find joy in giving
