INSTRUCTIONS Must Be Mailed to an Out of State or Country Address If you are turning 21 the year you are requesting a renewal or extension, be advised that your request for renewal or extension cannot be processed until your 21st birthday. If your birthday falls on a day that our office is not open, this form will be processed the next business day. Renewal Instructions Military, dependents, missionaries and college students are allowed to renew their Kansas driver's license through the mail. You are required to submit copies of your Kansas driver's license and supporting documents. Submit the requested documentation along with a copy of the form and appropriate fee. Student: Class schedule, tuition statement or other documentation showing enrollment in the current semester. (Must include name of College or University; must be shown on papers).

Missionary: A letter form the organization stating you are currently assigned to a mission, including locations and dates.
Service member/contractor: Current orders or a recent Leave and Earnings Statement (LES). Other documents may be accepted upon review. Military Dependent: Any of the above documents. If your name does not appear on the form, proof of relationship (birth/marriage certificate) may be submitted.
Replacement Instructions You must submit copies of two forms of ID. Do not send original documents as they will not be returned to you. Submit the requested documentation along with a copy of this form and the appropriate fee. Acceptable forms of ID are as follows:

Photo DL or ID previously issued by Kansas or any other state not expired for more than one year

A copy of any federal or state income tax return bearing the signature of the applicant or his/her representative
Military ID, dependent identification or CAC card, or military discharge papers i.e. D.D. 214 Medicare identification card Student or employee identification card with photo. The Division may waive the requirement for furnishing one of the documents in the case of a person who is 65 or more years of age
Certified U.S. birth certificate (state, county, or city), including U.S. territories, and District of Columbia Unexpired United States Passport or Passport Card U.S. Consular Report of Birth Abroad Certificate of Naturalization Certificate of Citizenship
Extension Instructions One six month extension can be granted to anyone that is out of state or country when their license expires. You’re required to submit a copy of your driver’s license. There is no fee for an extension. Military Only Renew or Replace Conceal Carry License Instructions You must submit the Notice of Approval that you received from the Attorney General’s office along with a photo copy of your license $16.00 fee.
