How many intakes per year for postgraduate program in UKM? Course work mode Course work and research/ Mixed mode Research mode

Open twice a year February intake – begin in October/November September intake – begin in April/Mei Open throughout the year

How to apply? All applications shall be made via our Graduate Admission Application System: guest.ukm.my

Can I apply manually? No, all applications must be online via guest.ukm.my

4.

Can I apply more than one (1) program at one time? No, you are allow to apply only one (1) program at one time.

5.

Can I apply more than one (1) time in the same semester? No. Application is only allowed once in the same semester.

6.

Do I need to send a copy of my application upon completion online? No need. Application is via online only and there is no documents need to be sent by post.

7.

If I plan to register by research mode, do I need to get a supervisor prior to my application? No need. The selection committee at the faculty/institute will assigned the supervisor if you are selected. However, you may propose your supervisor in your application.

8.

If I plan to register by research mode, do I need to submit a proposal during application? An application for research mode program, you are required to submit a proposal.

Do UKM offers full time or part time study? Malaysian applicants Full time or part time International applicants Full time only

How much is the processing fees and how should make the payment? Local applicant RM30 only International applicant RM100 or USD30 All payment is made via online (credit card/debit/online banking) in our Graduate Admission Application System: guest.ukm.my

I have submitted my application, when will I know the result? A complete application will be brought to the selection committee at the faculty/institute. The result will be announced in guest as follows: Successful Application is successful Rejected Application is unsuccessful KIV Your application is still under consideration (due to insufficient information/ the selection committee awaiting for further verification, etc.)

If I am a first class Degree holder, can I directly apply for PhD Program? No. You are required to register as Master’s student first and apply for conversion in the second semester of your study subject to the approval of your supervisor and committee at your faculty/institute.

16.

If I am a final semester student now (in Bachelor Degree or Master Degree), am I eligible to apply for Master or PhD program, even though I am yet completing my current study? You may apply by submitting your latest examination result and a letter of verification from your current institution mentioning that you are now in the final semester.

17.

Can the student change their forms of registration from full time to part time or vice versa? Yes, they may change subject to the approval from their respective faculty/institute. However, it is allowed to change only once only throughout the study.

18.

Is there any English language requirement such as IELTS or TOEFL prior to entering any Master or PhD program in UKM? English language requirement is compulsory for all international applicants.

19.

If I register as part time student, when will be the classes? Is it after office hour or during weekend? Class arrangement and schedule will be determined by the respective faculty/institute.

20.

How is the tuition fees charged in UKM? Is it by per credit hour or in package per semester? Tuition fees for all programs is charged in package per semester.

21.

If I once registered as UKM student and was terminated due to fail in examination, am I eligible to reapply in UKM? Yes, you may re-apply provided that not to the same program.

22.

If I once registered as UKM student and terminated due to failure to register or had withdrawn myself from the study program, am I eligible to re-apply? Yes, you may re-apply.
