Whether you are walking the Thames Path, travelling the river by canoe or skiff, or cruising the river and camping out at night under the stars, it offers a unique insight into life on the river. We have created this leaflet, listing all campsites within walking distance of the River Thames, from its source in the Cotswolds to Teddington on the outskirts of London, to help you plan your break. Camping at locks We have facilities for camping at some of our locks, most of which are on midstream islands (see listings). At Hurley Lock we have an island specially set aside for campers where there is a toilet and shower block. Facilities at some of the other locks are more basic, but provide a unique setting beside the river.
