Applications for Entrance Test for Admission to Ph..D Programme are invited from all eligible applicants. (Detail information will be available on the University Website i.e. www. hpuniv.nic.in.).

Fees and Eligibility conditions for Entrance Test to Ph.D Programme: Fees for Entrance Test: - Rs. 1100/- for General Category candidates - Rs. 600/- for SC/ST/IRDP/ BPL Categories candidates Payable in the Form of Demand Draft/ IPOs to be drawn in the favour of Finance Officer, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla- 171 005. Fees once deposited is not refundable.

Eligibility i. Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC -7 point scale ( or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions. ii. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/Differently- abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the university from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks. iii. 3% seats will be reserved for PwD candidates. iv. The other eligible candidates including those who have qualified their M.Phil. Degree from H.P. University will have to appear in the Entrance Test of 80 marks. However, weight-age will be accorded to them as follows:

The information supplied by the candidate especially relating to DATE OF BIRTH, CATEGORY, DOMICILE, and ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS shall be treated as final and no change shall be allowed to be made in this regard at a later stage. The application shall be scrutinized strictly according to the information supplied by the candidate and the responsibility with regard to the accuracy of the information shall lie with the candidate himself / herself. If the candidate fails to receive the Interview letter in time due to the postal delay or some other reason and thinks that he/she should have been called for the interview, he/she should personally contact the concerned department and confirm his/her position in the merit list on or before the date of Interview. Though the department shall make all possible efforts, the candidate himself/ herself shall finally be responsible about the knowledge of his/her position in the merit list and the eligibility for the interview. In the absence of requisite postal stamps on the card, the result / interview card shall not be sent to the candidate. If the candidate is called for the interview, he/she required to be present in the concerned department on the date of interview alongwith the necessary original documents and the requisite admission fee to be deposited on the same date in case his/ her selection. The interview card does not ensure admission of the candidate in the said course. The final admission shall be made purely on merit determined on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance test and/ or the previous academic record, as the case may be, from original after verifying the eligibility certificate / testimonials / documents.
