MANAGER COMMITTEES Total all inclusive salary package of R819 126.00 per annum. The package includes a basic salary of 60% of the total package, a 13th cheque, medical assistance, home owners allowance and pension fund contribution. Requirements: • A recognised postgraduate degree qualification and five (5) year management experience • Sound knowledge of the Financial Management of Parliament and Legislatures Act and Legislative processes and procedures • Knowledge of the political, economic and social environments and National and Provincial legislative processes • A valid code 8 driver’s licence. Duties: Manage and coordinate procedural and administrative support services to Legislature Committees through inter alia: • Managing and evaluating the performance of a Committees division personnel • Guiding and directing the actions of committee Administrators, Facilitations of all administrative submission of reports • Guide in drafting of agendas to ensure that relevant members receive correspondence on time • Manage the implementation of and compliance with internal policies, legislation and pro-forma documents • Manage the execution of external committee activities like public hearings, oversight visits, study tours (national and international) and workshops • Manage the submission of quarterly reports for the compilation of NWPL’s Annual Report • Management of internal activities to ensure that the strategic and operational objectives are achieved • Manage the development and training of staff and submission of inputs in the drafting of the Legislature programme. HEAD RESEARCHER

Basic Salary: R453 874.00 (excluding benefits) Requirements: • Masters Degree in the Social Humanities or Economic Sciences • Five (5) years research experience • The ability to evaluate the standard of qualitative and quantitative research • Minimum (3) three to (4) four years supervisory experience • Knowledge in database management will be an added advantage • Ability to analyse data using statistical packages especially SPSS • Advanced computer literacy • A valid driver’s licence • Knowledge of the Legislative sector environment especially the political, economic and social environments • Knowledge of National and Provincial legislative processes • Hard working and ability to work under sustained pressure • Be an analytical thinker • Must be able to work independently when required • Ability to influence the policy-making process within the NWPL. Duties: • Assist to manage the Research Sub-division’s resources • Establishment and maintenance of best research practices • Co-ordinating inputs to the Unit’s operational and strategic plans as well as assign in overseeing internal activities to ensure that strategic and operational objectives are achieved • Supervise research studies for oversight and international tours • Attending to and assuring quality of responding to audit queries • Submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports • Management of the performance and development of Senior Researchers and Junior Researchers • Assist to manage and oversee the co-ordination of research and follow up services follow-ups on Committee resolutions and decisions so as to facilitate implementation and compliance • Oversee the co-ordination of compliance with internal policies, legislation and pro-forma documents pertaining to research • Assist to oversee the maintenance of a research services support for effective research and retrieval • Assist in attending and responding to audit queries.

WEB DEVELOPER Basic Salary: R422 719.00 (excluding benefits) Requirements: • BSc Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology/Science • Minimum of three (3) years experience with HTML/XHTML and CSS • Minimum of three (3) years Web Programming experience, including PHP, ASP or JSP • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with relational database system such as MySQL, MS SQL or Oracle and a good working knowledge of SQL • Development experience using extensible web authoring tools • Experience in developing and implementing open source software projects • Self-starter with strong management skills • Ability to organise and manage multiple priorities • A team player with willingness to teach and learn. Duties: • Develop new Web Application as identified by supervisor and management packaged and customised applications • Create a companywide intranet allowing date manipulation for each internal staff member • Maintain and enhance existing Web application and ensure all internal system are integrated • Perform complete testing of Web application unit and system, engaging users as necessary • Conduct all user acceptance testing and report result • Design and implement user driven template, database and interface for ease of use • Develop database driven Web interface or rapid, real time information sharing • Develop external Web portals allowing users to input and retrieve accurate information • Participate in dynamic priority setting session as the summer season unfolds.

NETWORK AND AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICIAN Basic Salary: R201 747.00 (excluding benefits) Requirements: • Three year degree or equivalent qualification and 3 years relevant experience • Knowledge of broadcasting and video production system • Knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and managing SLAs (service level agreement) • Sound communication and interpersonal relations • Ability to work under pressure • Advanced ICT literacy • Leadership and management skills • Ability to exercise discretion. Duties: • Vision mixing and technical directing of multi camera production • Manage projects • Manage service providers (SLA) • Perform basic broadcasting procedures • Liaise with approved broadcasters on technical and production issues • Ensure that all audio/visual equipment in chambers and committee rooms are fully functional at all times.

PA: OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE MANAGER PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AND PETITIONS Basic Salary: R 201 747 00 (excluding benefits) Requirements: • Diploma in Secretarial Courses/Office Administration, degree in Public Administration will be an added advantage • Three to four years’ experience in a secretarial position • Report writing skills • Good written and verbal communication • Diary management • Ability to work under sustained pressure and work extended hours as and when required; minutes taking • Ability to work and liaise within a multicultural setting and audience • Conflict management • Proven computer literacy (MS Suite) • Working knowledge of project management • A valid code 8 driver’s licence. Duties: • Assist and co-ordinate the implementation of the organizations and/or the Branch’s objectives to deliver on the organizational mandate • Co-ordinate and follow-up on issues emanating from meetings • Manage the in- and outflow of correspondence and administration in general • Manage personal and telephonic access • Prepare for and make logistic arrangements for meetings • Take minutes and write reports • Manage the travel arrangements of the Executive Manager • Monitor the budget of the office and comply with generally recognized financial practices in order to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives of the Branch • Manage office resources • Assist with the compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports • Organize and file paperwork, documents and computer based information • Maintain the filing system • Maintain internal and external client confidence and protection of operations by keeping information confidential • Maintain schedules and events calendars; and generally creating an enabling environment for the Office of the Executive Manager.
