What is a Patient Portal? 

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a Patient Portal is an online tool that offers patients a secure environment to perform functions such as viewing test results and communicating with their healthcare providers in a confidential and secure manner. Unlike traditional methods of correspondence, the patient portal allows for communication without the delay of ground mail, missed phone calls or misinterpreted voice messages.

What do I get from Raritan Bay Medical Center Patient Portal? 



Safe, secure access to your health information from Raritan Bay Medical Center (The portal is accessible only for those 18 years of age and older): o Demographic Information o Basic Laboratory Results o Radiology Results o Visit Summaries Health resources such as Events, Health Calculators, and Education

Is my information secure? 

Yes! All information within the patient portal is secure, meeting the highest healthcare standards.

What does it cost? 

Raritan Bay Medical Center is happy to provide Patient Portal access at no charge to you.

How do I sign up for the Patient Portal?  



Sign up here to register: https://myrbmc.rbmc.org/ Fill in information about yourself, and click Update to complete the registration. You will receive an email welcome packet with your username, temporary password and activation code for the Patient Portal. Please be aware access to the portal can take 5 to 7 days. You will receive email notification when the portal is accessible.

The patient portal is not available for those under 18 years of age. Parents or guardians may receive test results for children under 18 by visiting the Health Information Management (HIM) Department at Raritan Bay Medical Center, 530 New Brunswick Ave. Perth Amboy, NJ, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 732-360-1000 for Old Bridge and 732-324-5391 for Perth Amboy. 1

What is an activation code? Why do I need it to sign up? 

The activation code helps to match you with your unique health records. It’s used to identify you to Raritan Bay Medical Center, to ensure the highest level of security.

I didn’t receive my welcome packet via email. What do I do? 

Check your email spam filter, to be sure that it was not filtered from you.

How do I get to the Raritan Bay Medical Center Patient Portal website? 

Go to https://myrbmc.rbmc.org/ in any internet browser.

What is my username? 

When you register, you provide us with an e-mail address. That e-mail address becomes your username.

What if I forget my password? 

On the login screen, click the link for “forgot your password?” Then enter your email address in the box provided. Your account will be reset and you will be emailed a new temporary password.

How do I change my password? 

Select My Setup from the left menu then click “Password Change”.



You will be asked to verify your UserID and current password, then to enter your new password two times.

The Font is too small. How do I control the Zoom of the page? 

Find the word Zoom in the top right corner of the page.



Then Click + to increase the Zoom or click - to decrease the Zoom on the page. 2

How do I view and share my Results, Visit Summaries and Demographic Information?  Login to https://myrbmc.rbmc.org/ and select ‘Health Summary from the left menu then you can select the following:  Continued Care Document & Summaries: View, trend or graph your Laboratory or Radiology Results  Health Summary: View and Download your Documents in a PDF  Visits: View recent Visits  Insurance: View your demographic information

I don’t see my information (such as a recent blood test) in the Raritan Bay Medical Center Patient Portal. What do I do? 

Please be aware, inpatient results are only available 36 hours after time of discharge and outpatient results are available 72 hours after the test has been performed. Only Basic Laboratory results are available on the portal. Please contact HIM dept to request other results.

I walked away from my computer, and when I came back, I had to log in again. What happened? 

The Raritan Bay Medical Center Patient Portal “times out” after a period of inactivity, to protect your information from unauthorized access. Log in again to see your information securely.

For Windows: Right click on the mouse and a menu pops up and click on create short-cut. a window will pop up that says "a short-cut to the current page will be placed on your desk top" click on "ok" For Mac: Go to the webpage and right click: choose on "create shortcut"
