The global offshore Jack Up rig industry may be under the storm by a downturn but a lot of positivity has emerged from the two-day conference organized by Tech Eight Consultancy which took place on 3 - 4 October in Dubai.
Launched in 2013, The 4th Offshore Jack Up Rig Middle East (OJME) Conference 2016 was held under the Patronage of “His Highness Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum". This conference took place at the right time as the Jackup market is supported by continued strong demand in the Middle East, where the rig count continued to increase, driven by incremental demand from UAE, while Saudi Aramco and Iran have continued to record a high number of Jackups under charter.

Almost 150 delegates from UAE, Singapore, UK, USA, Germany, Belgium, Nederlands, Saudi Arabia, India, France, South Africa, Qatar & Aberdeen attended the “4th OJME, having theme technical & Operational Excellence in low oil price environment. The presentations featured new technologies, markets, innovations & initiatives that support the development and the sustainability of the Rig business in this low oil price regime. Special focus sessions highlighted many existing issues facing the industry today along with solutions, actions, policies and programs to overcome them. This gave the delegates an opportunity to gain an insight & exchange of many
sustainable in business. The conference was dedicated to the most current industry issues. Each section covered the increase in efficiency, reducing costs, and introducing innovations for growth of the Jack Up Rig business.
The concurrent exhibition also served as a platform for developing inter-regional collaboration.
