AC Transit Line U
Line U provides express service between Stanford and the Fremont BART station. Other East Bay stops include parkand-ride lots in Fremont and the Fremont Amtrak/ACE train station. Line U service is supplemented by the Stanford Marguerite shuttle’s Line AE-F service, which runs between Stanford and the Fremont BART station.
Dumbarton Express
Line DB provides service between Stanford and the Union City BART station. Line DB also makes stops along Decoto Road in Union City/Fremont, along Willow Road in Menlo Park/East Palo Alto, and in Palo Alto. Stanford commuters can use the Line DB stops at Roth Way Garage and the Stanford Oval or connect with the Stanford Marguerite shuttle Lines X and Y at the Palo Alto Transit Center. Line DB can be an alternative to Line U.

Line DB1 provides service between the Union City BART station and Stanford Research Park. Line DB1 also stops at the Palo Alto VA Hospital. This line does not serve the Palo Alto Transit Center or the Stanford Oval; therefore, the Line DB1 schedule is not included in this guide. Visit www.actransit.org for Line U, Line DB, and Line DB1 maps and schedules.
Free for eligible Stanford affiliates
Stanford faculty, staff, students, and hospital employees ride the Line U for free with a valid university or hospital ID. Eligible university and hospital employees ride the Dumbarton Express for free with the VTA Eco Pass. For more information, visit transportation.stanford.edu.
