Live Life Well PDHPE Workshops Putting the FUN into FUNdamental Movements Skills MILO in2CRICKET introduces children to the game of cricket through the provision of fun game based activities. Kids will learn the basics of the game through playing a variety of games that cover all facets of the cricket. Games are designed for small groups to ensure all children get a go, and that they can test and learn skills as they go. 1.Batting • Hit off tees – variations include hit between markers, hit single marker, check grips • Relay hitting ball on bat around cone (walking) • Relay hitting ball on ground around cones • Roll ball and stop with foot before hitting back • Game of Fireball/Rapid Fire

Teach how to bowl – rock and bowl Teams of 4/5 in relay – 1 behind stumps Bowling crossfire game at stumps in the middle of teams Use larger ball to keep arm straight

3.Catching • pairs catching- variations of 2 hands, left hand only, right hand only, 2 balls at same time, 1 bounced and 1 thrown (Competition) • catch on own or in pairs using a cone • Games – catching tennis, fielding soccer, crossfire aiming at stumps or beach ball • Relay – put on cone then run around marker, return to cone and throw catch to next in line. Variation is 1 hand catch or roll ball back to next in line • Ball around body • Ball between legs

• We can show you how this format of the game works • 8 per side-boys and girls • Everyone gets to bat and bowl • Different fielding positions every over • Bat in pairs for 2 overs • Hit off a tee if the ball is bowled too wide • Very easy to score and umpire • Approx. 45 mins per game
