EXTRA SOURCES

The following are extra sources for problems: • The website for Microeconomics by Pindyck & Rubinfeld on Prentice Hall (www.prenhall.com/pindyck) provides a set of problems with solutions (in multiple choice format). Click on ‘student resources’ and then on the title of the chapter you’re interested in. • The Study Guide by Suslow and Hamilton that goes with Microeconomics by Pindyck and Rubinfeld contains for each chapter about 30 solved problems. It also contains short reviews. According to Amazon.com, it ships within 24 hours.

A more basic introduction to microeconomics that many people like is Microeconomics by Nordhaus and Samuelson. (Note that the authors also have books Economics and Macroeconomics. The Economics book is just a bundling of the two others). Some students also liked The Instant Economist by Pool and Laroe as a very informal introduction to the ideas of economics. (Note that a large part of this small book is actually about macroeconomics, which is not covered in this course.)
