About our worship
We ARE the Body In 2003, Christian group Casting Crowns released their first album, which included the hit “If We Are the Body.” This song takes an honest look at the world around us and asks if we are the body of Christ, then why aren’t our His hands healing, His arms reaching, and His words healing? For the past two weeks, Steve explained how we are the body of Christ, and as such we have certain responsibilities. What I hope to do over the next two weeks is to build upon his lessons.
Paul challenged the church in Rome with these words, “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” As individual parts of a larger body, it does matter when we aren’t serving like we should. It’s possible that we could be a burden on the other members of the body of Christ. One way to ensure that we are not a burden is to put our faith into action. That’s right—through our service. We are blessed at Tusculum to have numerous deacons and ministry leaders, and they need your help! As we search scripture, we find that Jesus healed with His hands (Matt. 8:1-4) and brought comfort with His arms (Luke 7:11-14). We can join Him in this. Remember, we ARE the body of Christ, and as such we need to serve like He served!
When was the last time you had a physical? If you are like most people, you regularly have one done. As you get older, you may get a checkup on a more regular basis. Why do we do this? We want to be healthy, and we want to catch any sickness or disease so that it can be treated. We need to know if our body is not working correctly. A small cough can turn to full-blown flu before we know it. If not properly treated, other systems can be affected. As we take a closer look at the things that we can do When was the last time that you had a spiritual within the body of Christ, I hope that you will pray for and checkup? We should do this daily, but sadly most of do look for opportunities to be His hands and arms. not. We might not even know that we are spiritually sick Grace and peace, Will until something really bad happens, like a secret sin is exposed.
All of our acts of worship are strictly voluntary, and you may participate according to your comfort level. (Return communion cups to the tray; please do not stack cups.)
Nursery
There is an attended nursery available for children birth through 36 months. We also have Bible story coloring sheets and crayons available in the Sprouts unattended common area, along with a streaming of the service, for those who have children older than 36 months. An usher will be happy to show you the way.
