Trivia Rules 1. There will be six (6) questions per round and six (6) rounds of questions. The team with the highest point total after all six (6) rounds wins. The final order of finish will be based on cumulative total of each of the six (6) rounds. The point value of each question will vary by round – in Round 1, each question will be worth 1 point; in Round 2, each question will be worth 1 point; in Round 3, each question will be worth 2 points; in Round 4, each question will be worth 2 points; in Round 5, each question will be worth 3 points; and in Round 6, each question will be worth 5 points. 2. Teams will be provided with paper to write their answers. All answers must be submitted silently. Make sure answer sheets include your team name and are easy to read. 3. Each question will be read twice. After the second reading of the question, you will have about two (2) minutes to submit your answer. Time warnings will be given. In interest of time this rule will be strictly enforced. 4. Only one (1) answer will be accepted per team. If more than one answer is submitted, the answer will be disqualified. 5. Each correct question answer, as determined solely by the Marlins, will be announced at the end of the allotted time. The Marlins shall be solely responsible for adjudicating any disputes related to the correct answers to questions, and the Marlins’ determination shall be final and binding. 6. If you have a problem hearing, please let us know IMMEDIATELY. 7. In the event of a tie, we will have a sudden death tiebreaker question(s) until the tie is broken, as determined solely by the Marlins. 8. Each team will have to place their cellphones in their respective containers on their table during the event. 9. If you need to make a call, or use the restroom, you will be permitted to do so. You will only be allowed back in once the next question is presented. 10. Cell phones, other electronic devices, outside study materials and assistance from non-team members are not permitted. Anyone caught utilizing these tools will be disqualified. 11. If you are disqualified for any reason registration fees will not be refunded. 12. HAVE FUN! Assistance Tools Expert cards (EC) may be purchased for $20 each or $50 for three (3). Once the expert panel has provided their suggested answer, the team must decide whether to use that answer or not. If you would like to have assistance in answering a question you can opt to use an EC to get the opinions of our Panel of Experts. To use an EC, turn in your EC card in place of an answer, after the Panel has shared their opinion you have ten (10) seconds to submit your final answer. The first four rounds will have two (2) designated questions where an EC can be used. Each team is allowed to utilize no more than one EC per round. EC are not permitted in a tie breaker, should one arise.

Prizes

First Place Team $1,500 cash + six (6) Dugout Club tickets for a 2013 Marlins Regular Season Home Game + team registration fee donated to team’s charity of choice, subject to final approval by the Marlins. (Approximate Retail Value: $2,410 )

Second Place Team Six (6) tickets to a 2013 Foundation marquee event of your choice + six (6) Dugout Club tickets for a 2013 Marlins Regular Season Home Game. (Approximate Retail Value: $1,260 )

Third Place Team Six (6) Dugout Club tickets for a 2013 Marlins Regular Season Home Game + post-game bottle service for six (6) at the Clevelander-Marlins Park following a 2013 Marlins Regular Season Home Game (all persons must be 21 years of age or older). (Approximate Retail Value: $800) Exact prize details, including seat locations at the game, to be determined in the sole discretion of the Marlins. All costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided, including but not limited to lodging, transportation costs, meals, gratuities and other expenses incurred by accepting the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners. Each winner is fully responsible for any and all applicable federal, state and local taxes (including income and withholding taxes). The prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable. The Marlins reserve the right to substitute any prize (or any portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value at its sole and absolute discretion. WAIVER OF LIABILITY/PUBLICITY RELEASE: By participating in Marlins Trivia Night, each registrant agrees to (i) be bound by these Official Rules, including all registration requirements, and (ii) waive any and all claims against Miami Marlins, L.P., Marlins Stadium Developer, LLC, Marlins Stadium Operator, LLC, the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, and each of their respective parents, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensees, distributors, dealers, retailers, printers, representatives and advertising and promotion agencies, and any and all other companies associated with Marlins Trivia Night, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, “Released Parties”) for any injury, damage or loss that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the participation in Marlins Trivia Night or from the receipt or use of any prize (or any portion thereof) or any travel or activity related to the receipt or use of any prize (or any portion thereof). Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, grants to the Marlins and each of its respective designees the right to publicize such winner’s name, address (city and state of residence), photograph, voice, statements and/or other likeness and prize information for advertising, promotional and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any media or format now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity, without limitation and without further compensation, consideration, permission or notification, unless prohibited by law.
