Following the Bull show • Adams County Regional Park During the Denver National Western Stock Show Simmental events
elcome... W
to the 2018 Wild Wild West!” This is our 18th Anniversary Sale! Hard to believe 18 years of bringing you groups of Sim Genetics! We are pleased to host another outstanding sale offering of these females “bred to be cows”… backed by cattle people who breed them to work in some of the harshest range conditions in North America. It proves the Simmental and SimGenetics females can work in any environment. And the Wild Wild West sale showcases these breeding programs. Come look us up in the yards. Several Wild Wild West consignors will be exhibiting in the female Simmental Pen Show. The bull pen show is Sunday, January 14th. The heifer pen show is Monday, January 15th, with the One Sale that evening. The Junior show and the bull show on the hill is Tuesday, the 16th. The Colorado Simmental Association works hard to make the National Western Stock Show Simmental events a reality. They are a small, but mighty group! Almost single handily, they put on the National Western Stock Simmental Show. So to help with some of those costs, the Wild Wild West will donate the Lot 1 semen tank and semen donation proceeds. We appreciate your support of this lot! Note the early start time ... 5:00 PM! An early kick-off! Adams County Fairgrounds is only a few extra miles from the Denver grounds, but it is worth the effort and the trip. If you can’t attend, the sale will be on DVAuction. Attend if you can ... watch on DVAuction if you can’t. New to this year’s Wild Wild West consignors is the Western Cattle Source, Brenda & Jock Beeson of Crawford, Nebraska. We welcome them as their cattle and philosophy fit those of the Wild Wild West! Call any of the consignors, Sale Consultants, Doug Parke, Drew Hatmaker or ASA Field Rep. for additional questions regarding the Wild Wild West consignments. We appreciate all our past buyers and look forward to seeing you back at this year’s sale during the National Western Stock Show. We look forward to seeing you the evening of Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 at the “Wild Wild West”.

Western Cattle Source is located in northwest Nebraska near the town of Crawford Ne. We raise reg. Simmental and commercial cattle along with a small Quarter horse program as well. I started raising registered Simmental cattle in the mid to late 1980’s. Prior to that we were using Simmental bulls on our commercial Angus Hereford cross cows. WCS emphasizes bulls and females that will work for our customers under several kind of environments. We currently run around 550 mother cows and 120 bred heifers every year. The cows are split about 300 registered and 300 commercial cows. We put embryos in the commercial cows every spring. Our cows run on rugged terrain varying from rough pine tree covered ground to badlands and the Ogallala grasslands. We trail our cows 24 miles to the grasslands and the rest get trailed 15 to 30 miles to and from pasture every year. Our cows have to work for us as they need to be super sound with good feet and legs and perform on limited feed. It takes between 15 to 25 acres to run a pair for five months. We need our steer calves to perform in the feedlot and hang with a superior carcass. We select our females to be feminine in design, super sound, good bone and feet, with capacity and high quality udders is a must along with a good disposition. Our bulls are designed to hold up under rugged terrain for our customers. We try to raise outcross genetics to the breed.
We are currently part of the Foxy Ladies Sale where we sale bred heifers and handful of elite opens. We are also part of the Wild Wild West Sale during the NWSS in Denver. We consign every year to the BHSS in Rapid City SD as well. WCS currently markets all of our bull calves private treaty. We market around 60 to 70 bulls a year. We keep the top quarter of our bull crop every year. WCS markets a few show heifers privately every year. WCS shows a pen of bulls every year at the NWSS where we have had great success over the years. We show periodically at other state fairs and national shows. We have had the luxury of having raised or owned several champions through the years. Visitors are always welcome as we are located near historic Fort Robinson, Crawford, NE, Mt. Rushmore, Sturgis and Rapid City, SD. Feel free to contact us at Jock (308)430-0668 Brenda (308)430-2117 or herdsman Jeremy Kennedy at 308-430-4517

At the Oval F Ranch in northwest Missouri, we believe in sound, productive, big bodied cows that can have a calf and raise it. We use EPDs to help improve all economical traits and appreciate productive females with eye appeal.
We are located in fescue country in the rolling hills north of Kansas City. Our cattle are handled much like our neighbors’ commercial cattle. We do not creep feed and what you see is what you get
We started in 1971 (ASA# 2729) with the purchase of 7 Parisien daughters bred to Bismark and have turned 16 generations from one of those heifers including our Princess and Julie lines, all AI sired. Our Oval F Linda L320 cow is a story in herself and has produced many popular sale cattle at the Wild Wild West and other national sales. We believe in the ASA slogan “The Cow Makes the Difference”.
We are serious about breeding Simmentals with COW POWER production in mind and appreciate being part of the Wild Wild West sale. If you are interested in bulls or females please give us a call or stop by our stalls at the NWSS “In the Yards” then join us at this sale.
We have also been successful in the bull department. We were fortunate to own and show AR Extra 8J to the Grand Championship at the National Show and all other major Simmental shows in 1979-1980. We are the breeders of Oval F Ringleader, Oval F Cool Dude, and 2 Division winners at the National Simmental shows in Kansas City. Our bulls are marketed through private treaty and we are proud of the repeat business from commercial cattlemen in our area.
All females OCV’d and tested BVD PI negative.

Sharon and Willie Altenburg receiving 25 years of bull sales recognition from Russ Princ, ASR Manager
Altenburg Super Baldy Ranch is located in northern Colorado and has been operating there for nearly 45 years. Altenburg’s emphasis is producing commercially oriented bulls for western bull customers. We utilize both Simmental and Angus genetics …. Red and Black. Simmental is utilized for adding growth and yield. Angus is used for calving ease and to add carcass quality. Both breeds have exceptional maternal traits, making the SimAngus females the most sought after cross in the industry. The resulting SimAngus – “Super Baldy” bulls are utilized by producers wanting just a little continental blood or to stabilize a crossbreeding program. We sell 120+ bulls and will hold our 26th annual Super Baldy Bull sale the 17th of March in 2018. Our cattle are summered at 6 – 7000 feet in “short grass” country requiring 20 acres per cow in the summer. Cows are “trailed” the 12 miles from the ranch each year. Cows are wintered on hay stubble, and corn stalks and calved outside. We try to run them as our commercial customers do. Both A.I. and embryo transfer are utilized to make improvements in genetic progress. Please go to our website and learn more about our program …. www.altenburgsuperbaldy.com

Russ and Pam Princ
We have been a part of the Wild Wild West Sale since its inception, now 17 years, and are proud to be a Wild Wild West member. This group of western cattlemen has enjoyed bringing sound, useful cattle that will work in range conditions when you take them home. We say they are “bred to be cows”. Many will work for show heifers, and youth projects, but ultimately, they “are bred to be cows”. If you have questions please contact me 970.481.2570 or manager, Russ Princ, 256.254.9042. He also knows the cattle and our operation. And finally, we value the National Western Stock Show and the Wild Wild West Sale as a time when we reunite with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you at the sale. All Altenburg animals are tested negative PI-BVD.

A unique opportunity to purchase two split flushes on what we feel is one
of our proven, most prolific donor females we have discovered later in life. An eight year old cow, she was uncovered only after she produced several outstanding natural calves, and has now produced 27 ET calves in only three flushes. She is a big embryo producer. We plan to flush her heavily this spring ... share her with us. We will split two flushes and flush costs if we can agree on sires used. Or you can purchase entire flush if you chose another sire. Dam of lot 24, by CCR Cowboy Cut, a heifer calf and lot 27 by EF Commando, a heifer calf and grand dam of lot 28, a heifer calf. Flash!! Our lead off open heifer is truly a herd builder! This female may be out of

As the Wild Wild West partners prepare for another quality sale, Bridle Bit Simmentals would like to invite everyone to spend an evening with our group during the busy National Western Stock Show in Denver. This is an exciting time for us as we continue to score perfect on the Performance Advocate Program sponsored by the ASA involving data collection. Our commitment to collect accurate data on every calf will continue to the end. We realize that science and technology has become an important part of the world, as well as the cattle industry, and we have embraced it. We believe that breeders who take advantage of science and technology will provide customers with the latest and most current information on the cattle they are purchasing. All of our bulls offered in the All Terrain Bull sale to be held on March 19, 2018 will have genomic enhanced EPDs. All of our THE females have been enrolled in the ASA’s Cow Herd DNA Round-Up Program.
Erroll Cook & Peggy Cook
To keep our program on the cutting edge of the seedstock industry, we have taken our bull calves to High Plains Feed Yard in Montezuma, Kansas to conduct a feed conversion study through Grow Safe Systems. Look for that data at bull sale time. We trust that you will find our females worth your time and consideration. Please feel free to visit us in Walsh at anytime.Visitors are always welcome. All Bridle Bit animals are tested negative PI-BVD.

years. After careful consideration and discussion with our partners, we decided to offer Black Hawk’s spring service right to the sale. This is an opportunity to acquire a high percentage bull that is proven to make purebreds on cows and heifers. We really liked being able to clean up heifers with him, but it was going to be a challenge because of the number of daughters we have at this time. The buyer will work closely with ST Genetics (TX) and Southern Cattle Company (FL). Contact Chad at 719-529-0564 if you have questions.

It’s a pleasure to welcome you to the Wild Wild West Sale. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers who have supported us and invested into our genetics over the previous years. It is so great to see the success our past customers have had. Not only success in the show ring but best of all to see our heifers sold in previous Wild Wild West sales go on to produce offspring in other sales. Again this year our small “cow power” group of cows (25 head) have produced another great set of heifers with substance, volume and cow look. These heifers are out of our top producing cows - ones have produced top sellers in years past. They are deeper in quality and we feel they would be a great asset to anyone’s program. For the first time we are offering more purebred heifers than percentage heifers. In fact our pen of three heifers entered in the National Western Stock Show are a group of March purebred heifers. All the heifers are tested negative for PI-BVD. Videos of the heifers will be taken at a later date and posted to our website. Even though we heavily use AI sires half of these
www.ahlbergcattle.com
heifers offered in this sale are out of our clean up bull we raised, AHLB Special Delivery, full sib to AHLB Hidden Treasure – one of the high sellers in the 2014 Wild Wild West Sale. He only sired four heifers and what a great job he did. All four are in this sale. It’s total satisfaction knowing and seeing what our genetics can produce. A great set of bulls - mates to these heifers - are offered for sale. Three bulls will be in the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic Sale, Kearney, NE in February and the rest are for sale by private treaty. These bulls are in Wayne, Nebraska and taken care of by Cashley. Again thank you to all who have purchased from us in the past. We appreciate your business! Your success is our success, and we look forward to visiting with you. If you have any questions please give us a call anytime, or stop by the farm and view the heifers before NWSS or stop by our stall at NWSS to see these outstanding heifers!

Eva is a knockout of a female that grabs your attention instantly. She has

the power, rib shape, and good looks to put her in a category a few can achieve. She is sired by AHLB Secret Weapon an Amigo son that we raised. We purchased her dam at the Wildcat Creek Ranch Dispersal sale and she has hit two home runs in two years. The first heifer calf that she produced for us is a Detour sired Red Angus female that we have retained and have high expectations for. Double Polled, Red

Far Out Cattle Ranch is located southeast of Walsh, CO. We are owned and operated by Jerrid and Katie Brisendine, as well as our three children Chelsea, Trace and Taylor. We started out Simmental herd in 2005 and became an ASA member # 245425. This year we have expanded our herd with the purchase of bred heifers from Bridle Bit Simmentals and Garrett Thomas. We are looking for these heifers to bring us new and exciting improvements to our herd. In striving for top genetics we are also looking to produce sound, quality cattle. Our bulls are bred to throw top gaining calves and we are always looking for improvement. Alongside Bridle Bit Simmentals, our bulls will also be monitored on feed efficiency through the GrowSafe Systems Ltd., under the supervision of Tom Jones, owner and manager of High Plains Feedyard, Montezuma, KS. The bulls will be featured in the All Terrain Bulls Sale March 19, 2018. This is our second year in the Wild Wild West Sale. We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with two of our top quality heifers and look forward to your continued business.
