HARVEST TIME IS HERE AGAIN. THANK YOU FOR THE SUN AND RAIN. PLANT THE SEEDS AND WATCH THEM SPROUT. GROW IT, COOK IT, DISH IT OUT!

On ‘cook’ make pot shape with leĞ arm. Use right arm to ‘dish it out’.

DON’T BE GREEDY – WHY NOT SHARE? (spoken) Not my problem – I don’t care! SO MUCH FOOD - LOTS TO SPARE. THINK ABOUT THE WORLD! (spoken) I don’t care! HARVEST TIME IS HERE AGAIN. THANK YOU FOR THE SUN AND RAIN. NOW’S THE TIME TO REAP THE CROP. GROW IT, COOK IT, IN THE POT!

As above, then point into pot with right hand.

TASTY FOOD FOR US TO EAT. GROW IT, COOK IT, WHAT A TREAT. HARVEST TIME IS HERE AGAIN. HARVEST TIME IS HERE AGAIN. HARVEST TIME IS HERE AGAIN.

As above, then put right thumb up on ‘what a treat’.

FRIEND 2

Look at all this wonderful food.

FRIEND 3

It’s much more than we need.

FRIEND 4

There has to be a way we can share.

JACK

(groaning) I wish I’d shared... I’ve eaten too much.

FRIEND 1

(holds up carrots) We’ve got loads of vegetables - we could send some of them to Africa!

ALL

(shaking heads) That won’t do.

FRIEND 1

Why not?

CHLOE

They’d be mouldy by the time they got there.

FRIEND 2

(holds up bread) We’ve got far too much bread - we could send some of that.

ALL

(shaking heads) That won’t do.

FRIEND 2

Why not?

MEGAN

It’d be stale by the time it got there.

FRIEND 3

(holds up biscuits) We’ve got loads of biscuits - we could send some of them.

ALL

(shaking heads) That won’t do.

FRIEND 3

Why not? They’d last the journey.

FRIEND 4

But it wouldn’t take long to eat them, and then they’d be gone.

JACK

(clutching tummy) Please stop talking about food!

FRIEND 1

(opening hands out) But we’re trying to find a way to share!

JACK

What about seeds?

ALL

(looking amazed at JACK’s idea) Seeds!

JACK

(encouraged) And we could help them buy tools to plant the seeds!

MEGAN

Good idea, Jack!

FRIEND 2

(to JACK) But they’d need water...

FRIEND 3

(nodding) To make the seeds grow.

JACK

(scratching head) Well... (opening hands out) well...

ALL

(puĴing thumbs up) Wells!

MEGAN

Another good idea, Jack!

CHLOE

There’s hope for you aĞer all! [MAIN CHARACTERS take seeds and tools to the THIRD WORLD children.]
