3. Reservations : A. Vertical Reservation : 69% Communal reservations will be followed vertically as per existing Government rules/Orders i.e General Turn–31%, Backward Class (other than Muslims)–26.5%, Backward Class Muslims–3.5%, Most Backward Class/ Denotified Communities–20%, Scheduled Caste–18% (Which includes 3% special reservation for SC Arunthathiars on preferential basis) Scheduled Tribe–1%, as per Roster described in the G.O.(Ms) No.65, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (K) Department, Dated 27.05.2009.

B. Horizontal Reservations :

i. Women Reservation : 30% Women reservation will be provided Horizontally as per existing Government Rules / Orders. ii. Reservation for Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) : 20% horizontal reservation on preferential basis for persons studied in Tamil Medium is followed as per existing Government Orders. This reservation

Candidates who claim this reservation must have studied their P.G degree and M.Ed. in Tamil medium, and they must produce the certificate issued by the respective Head of Institution. iii. Special Reservation : 3% Horizontal Reservation for the Differently Abled will be followed as per the G.O.(Ms) No.13 Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP.3.2) Department, Dated 02.03.2016. 4. Conditions for Special Categories: a) Visually Impaired: Candidates should possess certificate in prescribed format from the Competent Authority for one of the following: (i) Total absence of sight on both eyes, or (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses or (iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse. One-eyed visually impaired persons cannot claim reservation against Visually Impaired category. Low Vision 40% to 70% (LV) and Visually Impairment 100% (VI) are eligible. b) Orthopedically Impaired: Candidates with one arm (OA) / one leg (OL) / both legs (BL) claiming reservation under the differently- abled (Ortho) category should possess certificate in prescribed format from the Competent Authority for 40% to 70% disability.

6. Qualifications: Post

Qualification The candidate should possess a minimum general qualification as per Ad hoc rules defined in G.O.(Ms) No.133, School Education Department, Dt.14.06.2007 and amendment issued in G.O.(Ms) No.261, School Education (U2) Department, Dt.07.09.2010.

Senior Lecturers

Lecturers

i) Masters Degree with not less than 50% marks; and ii) M.Ed. Degree with not less than 55% marks; and iii) Teaching Experience for a period of not less than five years as:(a) Lecturer in the Directorate of Teacher Education Research and Training in the State of Tamil Nadu. or (b) Lecturer in the District Institutes of Education and Training in the State of Tamil Nadu. or (c) Approved Lecturer in any recognized Aided (or) Self Financing Teacher Training Institute in the State of Tamil Nadu. or (d) Junior Lecturer in a Government Teacher Training Institute in the State of Tamil Nadu: (i) Masters degree with not less than 50% marks in Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography; and (ii) M.Ed., for Lecturers in Languages or Subjects and M.P.Ed., for Lecturers in Physical Education, with not less than 55% marks.

Junior Lecturers

(i) Masters degree with not less than 50% marks in Tamil, Telugu, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography; and (ii) M.Ed. degree with not less than 55% marks.

Important Note : 1) Notified Posts are subject specific. Candidate should apply for the relevant subject. If a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subject possessed by him/her is equivalent to any one of the above mentioned subjects, the appointing 7

authority ie., user department (SCERT) will decide the equivalence at the time of appointment. The acceptance or rejection of such claim is vested with SCERT. 2) If the candidate possesses prescribed qualification as mentioned in para 7 above, he/she may apply either for all the three posts or two posts or any one post in a single application. But candidate should apply for only one subject for which the vacancies are notified and subject code is assigned. It is important to note that, a candidate can not apply for more than one subject. 3) Candidates should acquire their qualification in the pattern 11+1+3+2+1+1/10+2+3+2+1+1/10+3+3+2+1+1 as per G.O.(Ms) No.107 Personal and Reforms (M) Department, Dated 18.08.2009. 4) Candidates who wish to apply for other medium (Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu) subjects in Junior Lecturer posts should acquire their UG Degree / PG Degree in their respective medium or atleast they must have studied the relevant language as one of the language in SSLC / HSc / Degree Level. 7. Community Certificate: Permanent Community Certificate obtained from the under-mentioned authorities on or before the last date for submission of the filled-in application form is essential for candidates claiming communal reservation. a. ST-Revenue Divisional Officer/Sub-collector dated after 11.11.1989. b. SC/SCA - Tahsildar of native taluk of the candidate. c. BC/BCM/MBC/DNC – Headquarters Deputy Tahsildar or Special Deputy Tahsildar of the candidate’s native taluk. Note : (i)

Candidates with the Community Certificate issued by other authorities from Tamil Nadu will not be considered for communal reservation.

(ii)

Married Woman should possess Community certificate issued in her father’s community only. 8

(iii) The other State candidates (other than Tamil Nadu) claiming Community Reservation will be considered only for General Turn (GT). 8. Application form and Examination fee: a. The OMR Application Form along with Prospectus can be purchased from 15.07.2016 to 30.07.2016 in person from the Office of the Chief Educational Officers of all 32 Districts in Tamilnadu on payment of Rs.50/- (Rupees Fifty only) in cash towards the cost of the Application Form and Prospectus. b. Submission

issued by Teachers Recruitment Board shall be rejected. e. Examination Fee: The Examination fee is Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for all the candidates except SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates. For SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates examination fee is Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only). The fee should be paid by the candidates in any Branch of INDIAN BANK / INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK / CANARA BANK using only the prescribed challan attached with the prospectus. Payment of examination fees in any other method will not be accepted. The prescribed challan contains certain details of the fees, Application

number

and

account

number

for

the

specific

recruitment. C andidates have to write the Name of the Bank where the candidates make the payment and the date of payment in the relevant columns in the application form. f. The Teachers Recruitment Board's copy of the challan should not be pasted/stapled/ tied, but it has to be kept in a separate envelope and submitted along with the application form without fail. g. The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board is final for fixing the eligibility of the candidate to appear for the Examination. 9. Scheme of Examination:

The written examination will consist of a

single paper of 3-hour duration with 150 marks. The question paper will be of objective type with multiple choice questions in a single paper. The question paper will be based on the Syllabus for the subject hosted on TRB website (http://www.trb.tn.nic.in) as per Gazette No.232, Dated 02.11.2015, the marks allotted to the Main Subject, Education Methodology and General Knowledge are as follows : 10

The Question Papers for all subjects will be in Tamil and English only. 10.

Written Examination: The written Examination will be held on

17.09.2016 from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. The venue for the Examination will be intimated in the Hall Ticket.

Hall Ticket will be uploaded in

Teachers Recruitment Board official website http://www.trb.tn.nic.in. The candidates should download the Hall Ticket from the website. The Hall Tickets will not be sent by Teachers Recruitment Board to the candidates by post.

The candidate may refer TRB website

(http://www.trb.tn.nic.in) for details. The candidate will be allowed for examination after verifying his/her identity with the nominal roll in Exam centre before the examination. Visually Impaired candidates will be allowed assistance of Scribes, who are not Graduates/Postgraduates in the respective Subjects. The decision of Teachers Recruitment Board on the eligibility of the candidate to sit for the Examination will be final. Written E xamination Results: The results of the Written Competitive Examination with 1) Roll Number wise mark list of all the candidates and 2) Roll Number of candidates short listed for Certificate Verification (CV) in 1:1 ratio based on written examination marks & communal reservation will be released in the website of Teachers Recruitment Board viz. http://www.trb.tn.nic.in by notifying about release of results in the Press / Media. 11

If more than one candidate secures the same lowest cut-off mark for a particular communal turn, all such candidates will be called for Certificate Verification.

Certificate Verification: The C.V will be conducted for the above

short listed candidates for each post on separate day. The order of preference for the post will be assigned in the following order 1) Senior Lecturers 2) Lecturers and 3) Junior Lecturers based on their marks and the post applied for mentioned in their application form.

All the

certificates possessed by the candidate should have been issued prior to the last date (cut-off-date) for submission of filled in Application. Certificate issued after the cut-off-date will not be considered.

Provisional Selection: After certificate verification of the eligible

candidates, based on scale of pay with Grade Pay the provisional selection list will be prepared in the following order i.e.,

i) Senior

Lecturer ii) Lecturer and iii) Junior Lecturer. The provisional list of candidates selected for appointment after the Certificate Verification for the short-listed candidates duly following the communal rotation on the basis of merit, will be published

in

the website of

TRB

viz.

http://www.trb.tn.nic.in and in the information counter of Teachers Recruitment Board by notifying the release of final result in the Press/media. Intimation to the provisionally selected candidates will not be sent by post individually. The final eligibility of the candidates will be subject to the decision of Teachers Recruitment Board and the Board has every right to alter or cancel their results. This provisional selection is subject to the verification of facts and all original certificates by the User Department.

Based on the verification, the Head of the

Department, SCERT has every right to cancel the selection of the ineligible candidates. 12

13.

TA / DA:

No T.A./D.A. will be paid. Candidates will have to bear

their own expenses to attend the Written Examination in districts and for Certificate Verification at Teachers Recruitment Board, Chennai, if called.

14.

Special Instructions: a. Entries in application forms should not be erased, over-written, or shaded with white fluid. Unnecessary markings and smudging in any part of the application should be avoided, since they may lead to unnecessary confusion during data scanning as the computers are very sensitive, which leads to rejection of candidature. If any mistake as stated above is committed inadvertently, candidates are advised to apply in a fresh OMR Application.

b. The passport size photograph should be pasted in the space provided and should not be stapled. The photograph should not be attested and it should be free from any mark, as the same has to be used for printing the Hall Tickets.

c. The Application Form should not be folded. The Application form should be submitted only in the envelope issued along with the form.

d. As the form is computer readable and pre-programmed, any information written outside the boxes provided will not be read by the computer. Hence, altering the form or adding any additional box will result in your application becoming invalid.

e. A photocopy of the filled and signed application form with acknowledgement may be preserved for any future reference.

f. Electronic gadgets / Clerk’s Table / Calculators / Cell Phones are not permitted inside the Examination Hall. g. The Teaching Experience Certificate should be in the prescribed format as in the Annexure III in prospectus. h. Candidates are informed to ascertain their full eligibility for the post to which they have applied. The onus of providing proof of subject equivalence is vested with the candidates only. TRB cannot take any responsibility for the non-selection and ineligibility. If any mistake detected at any stage during or after the recruitment, declaration of results and their candidature will be liable for cancellation. i. In the matter of recruitment, the decision of the TRB is final. Any representation for non-selection will not be entertained at any cost. j. Incomplete Application Forms will be summarily rejected. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification for selection.
