Other
Do not add nitrites due to possible formation of nitrosoamines (potential carcinogen).
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE: Handling and Storage
Store in cool ventilated area away from ignition sources. Do not store above 100°F. Keep containers tightly closed. Do not cut, puncture, or weld on or near empty or full drums.
Other Precautions
Avoid oxidizers. No smoking or eating in handling areas. Wash hands after using and before smoking or eating. Emptied containers may retain hazardous residue and explosive vapors. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Follow all hazard precautions given in this data sheet until container is thoroughly cleaned or destroyed.
Material Release or Spill
Evacuate the area, ventilate, and avoid breathing vapors. Remove all sources of ignition (flames, hot surfaces, and electrical, static, or frictional sparks). Dike area to contain the spill. Wearing protective equipment, clean up spill on absorbent, non-combustible material and place in covered containers for disposal. Do not flush to sewer or open water. Avoid contamination of ground and surface waters.
Disposal of Material
Dispose of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Do not incinerate closed containers.
