The Client Marriott® is an international lodging leader, with more than 3,700 properties and the broadest portfolio of brands in the industry. Situated in the heart of Leeds city centre, this busy four-star hotel operates over 6 floors, has 236 rooms, 8 suites and a very busy meeting, conference and event business serving 21 meeting rooms in a total of 702 m2 of meeting space. Corporate business guests expect exceptional results from the hotel’s business services and there is an equally high standard demanded for the hotel’s own operational print and copying - for guest bills to wedding plans, staff rotas to menus.
The Challenge To reduce costs, increase service levels whilst ensuring consistently high quality print and copies. The consultative approach adopted by Complete Office Solutions’ Gary Riley, revealed a poor service experience and identified that the hotel was being charged over-inflated prices for their printer maintenance and cartridges for their 20+ printers and copiers.
The Solution The first phase was to supply consumables and the servicing of the current printer fleet. This has resulted in a high level of customer service, a guaranteed fast response from Complete Office Solutions’ field based engineers to any maintenance call and a reduction in consumable costs by around 20%. Then the contract to supply photocopiers came up for renewal. The Hotel’s main requirements included network printing, faxing and scanning plus, in the “Executive Lounge” a colour machine offering Guests direct print access. Complete Office Solutions’ proposal offered the “Airprint” facility from Ricoh, in the “Executive Lounge”. We were able to incorporate the facility for any person to print direct from an iPhone or an iPad directly without the need for any additional software. There is also a free app available for other smart devices that allows direct printing to the Ricoh machine.
