Today, we honor the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Heed the advice of Pope Francis, and take time to pray with your family today and every day.
We close out the Christmas octave—the eight days following the birth of Christ—with a day honoring Mary as the Mother of God. Practice the art of Lectio Divina on her feast day today.
On his feast day, remember St. Basil said, “Do everything possible to make yourself worthy of the Kingdom. Do not disdain the invitation you have received.” (St. Basil the Great, Exhortation to Baptism, 7-8, as quoted in Advent and Christmas with the Church Fathers [2010], 33)
7 The Epiphany marks the arrival of visitors identified in Scripture as magi to the place where Jesus was born. Although we know virtually nothing about their identity, we do know they brought three gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

La Epifanía marca la llegada de los visitantes, identificados en las Escrituras como reyes magos, al lugar donde nació Jesús. Aunque virtualmente no sabemos nada de la identidad de ellos, lo que sí sabemos es que le llevaron tres regados: oro, incienso y mirra.
