Japanese Hospitality – July Program of Events We are once again hosting more events that highlight the unique aspects of Japan to enable travelers from overseas to experience our culture and encourage them to visit us again. In July, these will include opportunities for Tanabata Festival Tree Decorations and Collaboration of Harmony 3 Rings of Japanese Culture and Beautiful Japanese Summer -Japanese Summer Festival Experience-. Please refer to the attachment for more details.
Tanabata Festival Tree Decorations Tanabata festival tree decorations, a traditional summer feature of Japan, will be on display at Narita Airport.Airport customers will be able to enjoy a traditional Japanese event by decorating a 3-meter high bamboo sheaf and writing their wishes on a strip of paper and tie it to one of the bamboo branches. This year will also feature a bamboo lantern display providing a bright, welcoming atmosphere, courtesy of the Sawara Women's Association of Sawara (Katori City) in a joint undertaking with the Narita Airport Regional Co-existence and Co-prosperity Council.
Collaboration of Harmony 3 Rings of Japanese Culture The students of Narita Kokusai High School will introduce aspects of Japanese culture in a range of events again this year. Enjoy the culture of Japan through calligraphy performed to music, recitals on the koto, a traditional harp that produces the unmistakable sounds of Japan, as well as a Japanese tea ceremony workshop where participants can learn the etiquette and actually sample the tea.

Airport users will be able to experience Japanese culture and take souvenir photographs in this popular corner of the passenger terminal. July will feature the very popular hands-on Ukiyo-e printing, origami, dressing in yukata robes, as well as calligraphy, Japanese paper doll and kite making.Events are held every day in the departure area after the security check and passport control.
