JOB DESCRIPTION# 5.6 TITLE: Senior Leadership FUNCTIONAL TITLE: Nursing Home Administrator/Vice President of Seven Hills Pediatric Center JOB CATEGORY: Professional Support Staff REPORTS TO: President/Chief Executive Officer and Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Seven Hills Foundation. BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Vice President administers, directs and coordinates all the activities of Seven Hills Pediatric Center to assure that the highest quality of care is provided to the medically fragile residents it serves. By supporting and interpreting the mission of the Seven Hills Foundation, the Vice President is responsible for the integration of the Affiliate within the Seven Hills Foundation. SCOPE: The Vice President has clinical, fiscal, regulatory, human resource and marketing responsibility for all programs integrated into Seven Hills Pediatric Center. This includes the nursing home, special education school and the adult day program. The Vice President serves as a member of the Seven Hills Foundation Senior Leadership team. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be licensed according to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts regulations and must attend continuing education as required. • Must possess a thorough knowledge of Department of Public Health regulations that pertain to a skilled nursing facility for children; Department of Education regulations for special. education schools; Department of Mental Retardation for the nursing home day habilitation programs. • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. SCHEDULE: This is a full time position with hours to be determined by programmatic needs. JOB DESCRIPTION: • Manages the financial areas within the facility, along with the foundation business team to optimize revenue and manage expenses. • Oversees the clinical practice within the facility and creates an environment to support interdisciplinary clinical care. • Supports and facilitates effective family collaboration and communication to achieve defined goals for each resident. • Ensures compliance with state, federal and local standards and regulations. • Responsible for overall staffing patterns of the facility to ensure adequate care levels in all departments. • Has oversight of the human resource functions of the facility to ensure that all employees are treated in accordance with Foundation practices as well as state and federal labor law practices. • Ensures that establishing positive relationships with referral sources maximizes the nursing home and school census.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES: • • • • •

Assists with the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the annual budget. Oversees the day-to-day management of the Seven Hills Pediatric Center Business Office. Has a sound understanding of Medicaid, DOE, and DMR reimbursement regulations. Responsible for the completion of and adherence to the Facility Policy and Procedure Manuals. Must be able to successfully complete the annual DPH survey and maintain the facilities long- term care license in good standing. Must receive accreditation for the school licensure annually by complying with Massachusetts DOE regulations and all applicable federal education regulations. Must ensure that all clinical departments follow the accepted standards of practice in each of their disciplines and comply with the Department of Public Health regulations. Directs the Performance Improvement Committee to ensure quality care throughout the facility. Overall responsibility for adequate staffing in the facility, and the direct responsibility for hiring of the senior leadership staff within Seven Hills Pediatric Center. Maintains a working relationship with the Massachusetts Medical Review Team for resident referrals. Promotes the facility to all acute care, school districts, and home care by establishing positive relationships. Works with other pediatric long term care facilities in Massachusetts, as well as nationally to advocate for the needs of the medically fragile child.

Incorporates knowledge about current issues in long-term care and health care management into the professional practice environment. Assumes responsibility for engaging in the process of self-evaluation and mutual evaluation with the Seven Hills Foundation President. Utilizes resources for the assessment and realization of personal career goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS /PHYSICAL REQIREMENTS: • •

Works in a busy area in a high stress atmosphere. Works in a resident care environment where there is some exposure to communicable disease.
