The provincial name, Prachuap Khiri Khan, indicates an area with a range of mountains. It is the western province which acts as the gateway to the south. This is because its southern boundary connects with Chumporn while its northern boundary extends to Cha-am District in Petchaburi. To the west the border unites Thailand with neighbouring Myanmar, and on the eastern side is the Gulf of Thailand. Prachuap Khiri Khan is 323 kilometers far away from Bangkok. The narrowest point just 12 kilometers at Ban Khlong Wan, is the narrowest in Thailand. Bangkok (Phetchakasem Road, Highway No. 4) : Alternatively, it is possible to travel through Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Petchaburi to Prachuap Khiri Khan. บัตรความรู้ ที่ 2.2 เรื่อง Attractions in Prachuap Khiri Khan Hua-Hin (CD: Audio 2 Track 7) Klai Kangwon Palace : A palace for the King in the summer. The palace was built in King Rama VI in a European style.
Pa La-U Waterfall : Sixty kilometers west of HuaHin district, Pa La-U is in Nongplub sub-district. It features a 15-tiered waterfall in a tropical rain forest which has water all year round.
Pranburi (CD: Audio 2 Track 8) Pranburi Estuary : Pranburi river flows into the Gulf of Thailand at this location. The livelihood of the people is based on fishing. It is a wonderful place to get fresh seafood and dried seafood.
Sam Roi Yot (CD: Audio 2 Track 9) Phraya Nakon Cave : This cave is in Khao Tian area, Bang Pu village, Sam Roi Yot National Park. It is known for ‘Khuhakaruehat Pavilion’. which is a very small royal pavilion built inside the cave by King Rama V. The pavilion has become a symbol of Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Kui Buri (CD: Audio 2 Track 10) Sam Roi Yot National Park : Located 63 kms. South of Hua-Hin in Kui Buri district, this coastal national park has limestone mountains, mangrove swamps, and beaches. It is also home to various kinds of local and migrating birds.
Prachuap Khiri Khan (CD: Audio 2 Track 11) The City Pillar of Prachuap Khiri Khan : Situated in the city center of Prachuap Khiri Khan, and built in the style of art from the Lopburi period, it is one of the finest and most beautiful examples of a city pillar in Thailand.
Khao Chong Krachok : From the foot of the hill in the north of the town and up 395 steps, there is a small pagoda and a troop of playful monkeys.
Dan Singkhon : Singkhon border had been used as a main passage between Thai and Myanmar. This is the narrowest part of Thailand-12 kms. wide. There is a daily border market where both Thai and Burmese peoples gather to sell products.
