Mazel Tov. Your family has arrived at a significant and joyous milestone- your child is becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah. It is the celebration of many years of learning, of intense preparation, and the start of Jewish adulthood. It is a time for you to rejoice over your child's accomplishments and a time for you and your child to reflect together on the meaning of this event and the role Judaism will play in your child's future. Or Hadash is most proud of you for providing a Jewish education for your child. Becoming Bat or Bar Mitzvah is a very important steppingstone in a child’s lifelong Jewish journey. As a Jewish community, we at Or Hadash encourage you and your child to continue to embrace and explore Judaism and to strengthen your and your child's Jewish identity and connection, well beyond the joy of the formal Bat or Bar Mitzvah ceremony. As you prepare in the coming months, please remember that we are here for you. As questions or concerns arise, please feel free to contact our Rabbi Josh Waxman, or our Education Director, Barbara Weisman. Under their expert and caring guidance, we will make every effort to make sure that both the preparation and the Bar or Bat Mitzvah service will be as meaningful and special as possible for both you and your child. Of course, if there is anything at all that I can do to help with any of your questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me at 215-805-4291 or
[email protected] We wish you every happiness and blessing as you celebrate this and future milestones. B'Shalom, Jay Cohen Jay Cohen, President
