ABOUT MARLOW UKRAINE TRAINING
ODESSA HEAD OFFICE - PREMISES
Marlow Navigation Ukraine offers its seafarers training at its three training centres; Odessa head office, Kherson Branch office, and at Kherson Maritime Specialized Training Centre (KMSTC) at Kherson State Maritime Academy (KSMA). All three training centres work in close cooperation with Marlow Navigation Co.Ltd., headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus.
Marlins Approved Test Centre Odessa Head Office The first Marlow Navigation Ukraine Training Centre (MNUA TC) was established in Odessa in 1999 and has over the years increased its activities significantly. The training facilities are located on the third floor of the MN Ukraine head office on 45, Troitskaya Street, Odessa. They consist of a computer lab, two lecture rooms and a conference room with audio-visual facilities to support larger seminars. A fully equipped training galley for upgrading culinary skills complements the installations. The training centre is certified according to ISO 9001:2008, and is also a Marlins approved test centre for English language courses.
Kherson Branch Office The training centre at the Kherson Branch office was established in 2008. It is located on the 2nd floor of the office building on 13, Dekabristov Street, Kherson. Facilities here include a computer lab and a classroom with dynamic audio-visual facilities. In addition to seafarer training, our staff at Kherson also takes care of the coordination of cadet training with nearby KSMA.

Kherson Maritime Specialized Training Centre (KMSTC) KMSTC was established in 2012 in close cooperation with KSMA in order to fully utilise possible synergies with the academy in the area of simulator and offshore safety training. The training centre is located within the premises of the academy on 20, Ushakova Avenue, Kherson. Facilities used by KMSTC include the latest state-of-the-art marine simulator complex, such as: Heavy Lift, Crane Handling, Full Mission Bridge, Full Mission Engine, ECDIS, GMDSS, and Dynamic Positioning DP. In addition, there is an offshore safety training cell with an indoor swimming pool, helicopter ditcher, an indoor enclosed lifeboat, a free-fall boat, a fast rescue boat, fire fighting site, and a container stack for practical training. The equipment was donated by Marlow Navigation and its partners, as well as other industry organisation, such as IMEC and ITF, as part of their support of the Academy. In 2010, the company launched a tailor-made English language course to improve proficiency of its Ukrainian Officers and Ratings. ODESSA HEAD OFFICE - IN-HOUSE LECTURES MARITIME RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (MRM) Maritime Resource Management (MRM) is a Training Program which is built on well-established facts, as well as the latest research within the human factors area. It aims to establish safe attitude and provide a new set of “tools” that course participants shall be able to use in their working environments. Another objective is to increase the knowledge on human performance and limitations with the purpose of creating a deeper understanding of what can lead humans into lack of situation awareness and complacency. Kherson Maritime Specialized Training Centre (KMSTC) was initiated by the Kherson State Maritime Academy in 2012 to operate equipment donated by the shipping industry and the German fund for investment and development – DEG, such as: Heavy Lift, Crane Handling, Full Mission Bridge, Full Mission Engine, ECDIS, GMDSS, and Dynamic Positioning DP. In addition, there is an offshore safety training cell with an indoor swimming pool, helicopter ditcher, an indoor enclosed lifeboat, a free-fall boat, a fast rescue boat, fire fighting site, and a container stack for practical training.

In October 2013, the training centre was accredited by the Offshore Petroleum Training Organization (OPITO) to conduct safety training courses for offshore petroleum industry employees. In the same year, KMSTC was also accredited by the State Inspection of Ukraine on security in maritime and river transport (SISMIT) to provide STCW training for seafarers. A team of young, highly motivated and well trained instructors is making the best use of the latest state-of-the-art equipment and simulators by delivering high quality training to course participants coming from across Europe. One of the value added training courses which enjoys a very high reputation with companies that operate HL ships since the establishment of the KMSTC is the HL operations simulator training. CADETSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM AT KHERSON INVESTING IN THE FUTURE
IN-HOUSE LECTURES
In order to produce its own Ukrainian Officers from ground-up, the company operates its own cadetship training program in cooperation with Kherson State Maritime Academy (KSMA).

CODE
Cooperation between the company and KSMA dates back to 2006 and has been strengthened ever since. Every year, 100 young cadets at the Academy are selected to join the company’s vessels for their mandatory sea service as cadets. Cadets then embark on their professional career path, following the company’s controlled accelerated promotion system.
