infinite PC Connect Interface The infinite PC Connect Interface is an add-on module that enables you to connect the infinite Prime control panel locally to a PC. This connection allows system configuration using the Remote Programmer (RP) software and firmware flash programming updates to each of the control panel’s modules. Both the RP software and the flash programming application may be downloaded from our website – www.electronics-line.com.

To connect the PC Connect Interface to the control panel: 1. Open the front cover of the control panel and remove the plastic cover concealing the USB port. This cover may only be removed from the inside of the control panel’s housing. 2. Connect the USB A plug on the cable provided to the control panel’s USB connector – see Figure 1. 3. Connect the USB B plug to the PC Connect Interface. 4. Connect the 9-pin female connector from the PC Connect Interface to a COM port on your PC.

1. Local Connection to the Remote Programmer Application In order to program the control panel using the Remote Programmer (RP) application, you need to set the modem type for the RP as “PC Connect”. To set the modem type: 1. From the Tools menu, choose Modem Configuration. 2. Set the number of the COM port to which the PC Connect Interface is connected. 3. Set the Modem Type as “PC Connect”. 4. Click OK. For further information on how to use the RP application to program control panels, refer to the on-line help provided with the software.

2. Flash Firmware Update Using the PC Connect Interface, you can update all of the infinite Prime control panel’s modules simultaneously. For this purpose you need to have the Firmware Manager software application installed on your PC. To update Firmware: 1. Open the Firmware Manager application; the infinite Firmware Manager window and Entry Passcode dialog box appear.

Enter your passcode (default 12345). Click OK. Note: Electronics Line 3000 recommends that you change the default passcode before you start updating to prevent unauthorized access. For further details, refer to the on-line help provided with the software.

Set the COM Port: a. From the System menu click Set COM Port; the Set Com Port dialog box appears. b. From the Select Serial Port list, select a Port number c. Click OK. Click Load File; the Load dialog box opens. Select the DAT update file you want to use and click Open. Click Connect; the Manager uploads the current and target firmware of each module to the relevant columns and the Update Active Devices dialog box appears.
