IN 2011, A MEMBER of the Marriott organization contacted Islandaire to discuss the ability to provide four DR. PTACs to the Marriott Courtyard Hobby Airport Hotel in Houston, Texas. The hotel had an inadequate operating make-up air system and the average relative humidity was 78%. Following the installation of the the Dr. PTACs, the humidity in the tested hotel rooms dropped from 78% to 56% with the elimination of odors and smells and the decrease of further microbial growth. The responsible organization elected to replace the remainder of the hotel units with DR. PTAC.
