NORWEGIAN LANGUAGE, LEVEL 1 (A1) Short course annotation The aim of this course is to enable students to communicate in Norwegian in simple situations and to provide them with the basic knowledge of the Norwegian grammar (main morphological and syntactic rules) corresponding to level A1. Students learn to read simple texts with the aid of dictionary and to produce their own written texts using simple language. The form of studies includes lectures, seminars, self-study tasks and work in SANAKO lab and virtual MOODLE environment (on-line work, synchronous and asynchronous conversations and discussion forums, interactive tests and exercises). The students learn to communicate correctly both in spoken and written forms in simple situations and get prepared to study Norwegian in level A2. Distribution of workload for students (contact and independent work in hours) Lectures and seminars 90 academic hours (60 contact hours and 30 hours in the virtual teaching environment). Independent work 70 academic hours. In total 160 academic hours. Structure of cumulative score and value of its constituent parts Midterm exam - 20 %, final exam - 30%, other oral and written work during the semester - 50 % of the final mark. NORWEGIAN LANGUAGE, LEVEL 2 (A2) Short course annotation The aim of this course is to enable students to communicate in Norwegian giving them the knowledge of the Norwegian grammar of the pre-intermediate level A2 (morphological and syntactic rules) as well as teaching them to read relatively uncomplicated texts with the aid of dictionary and to produce their own written texts. The form of studies includes: seminars, self-study tasks and work in SANAKO lab and virtual MOODLE environment (on-line work, synchronous and asynchronous conversations and discussion forums, interactive tests and exercises). Students learn to communicate in Norwegian rather fluently and correctly (both in spoken and written forms) in various situations and get prepared to study Norwegian level B1. Distribution of workload for students (contact and independent work in hours) Lectures and seminars 90 academic hours (60 contact hours and 30 hours in the virtual teaching environment). Independent work 70 academic hours. In total 160 academic hours. NORWEGIAN LANGUAGE, LEVEL 3 (B1) Short course annotation The aim of the course is to enable the students to understand spoken and written Norwegian and to communicate in Norwegian in most situations which might be relevant to travelling in Norway as well as to discussing various topics without having to prepare for the discussion in advance. The students learn to produce written texts at the level that corresponds to level B1 as described by the European Commission. The form of studies includes lectures, seminars, self-study tasks and work in SANAKO lab and virtual MOODLE environment (on-line work, synchronous and asynchronous conversations and discussion forums, interactive tests and exercises). Students gain the competence which enables them to communicate logically, fluently and correctly in Norwegian (both in spoken and written forms) in various situations and get prepared to study Norwegian level 4. Distribution of workload for students (contact and independent work in hours) Lectures and seminars 90 academic hours (60 contact hours and 30 hours in the virtual teaching environment). Independent work 70 academic hours. In total 160 academic hours.
