Teleroute now fully integrated into Wolters Kluwer Transport Services across Europe, offering extended services
On the eve of its 30th anniversary, Teleroute continues its successful story in a larger chapter Brussels, 2. December 2014 - Initiated in 1985, Teleroute was the first freight exchange on the European market, starting in France on the Minitel and offering the first telematics solutions for freight management. Today Teleroute provides an effective, secure and reliable freight exchange, enabling all carriers in Europe to increase the productivity and profitability of their business. Teleroute is known as a freight exchange with excellent international coverage and compelling amount of verified users throughout Europe – reducing empty running and optimizing load capacity. Now, shortly before celebrating its 30th anniversary, Teleroute has been fully integrated into Wolters Kluwer Transport Services, entering a new chapter of its history.
Latest enhancements and customer focus in Germany Since last year, Teleroute in Germany launched partnerships with some transport groups and federations: E.L.V.I.S. AG (Europäischer Ladungs-Verbund Internationaler Spediteure – European freight forwarders’ group), LVSA (Landesverband des Verkehrsgewerbes Sachsen-Anhalt e.V.), LV M-V (Landesverband des Verkehrsgewerbes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e. V.), VVRP (Verband des Verkehrsgewerbes Rheinhessen-Pfalz), LBBV (Landesverband des Berliner und Brandenburger Verkehrsgewerbes e.V.). The deals gave discounted rates or special conditions for members of these associations on the freight exchange. Teleroute also launched +100 loyalty deals to reward heavy users and loyal customers. With these two initiatives, the domestic freight offers posted on Teleroute increased by 34% in Germany between April and October this year. The transport company Reltrans, based in Wuppertal, is one of the first customers of Teleroute since it opened in Germany in 1989 and they acknowledge that their business has expanding thanks to the use of the European freight exchange: “Teleroute has been an essential tool for our development and growth in Europe since we joined it 25 years ago”, said Harald Lehmkuhl, Managing Director, Reltrans.
An essential tool for the European transporters Transactions made via the freight exchanges contribute to the flexibility and optimisation of road freight transport in Europe. It avoids empty running, optimizes back load and is an essential tool for many companies. A transporter typically achieves 10 to 15% of its turnover on the spot market - the freight exchange. The rest is done on a contractual basis. Teleroute helps those companies in maximising their loading capacity.
